FYI: Wood/carbon fire steering wheel covers

I finally found out who makes the wooden overlay steering wheels

they are produced by Grant and I just spoke to one of thier reps

they will have the 2000-02 application in 3-4 months....he said that they are doing so many models that it will take a bit of time

"Grant's new Custom Styling Ring makes it easy to add style and elegance to airbag steering wheels. The Styling Rings are beautifully crafted and formed to exactly match the contours of the factory airbag steering wheel rim and spokes. The Styling Rings are designed to accent the airbag steering wheel, while retaining all of the airbag safety features.

The Styling Rings are molded from high strength composite material featuring Grant's photolithographic process, a photo printing process that offers an extremely realistic detailed appearance. Each Styling Ring is custom molded to fit a specific airbag steering wheel"

the wheels go on top of the stock steering wheel and come in burlwood, rosewood and carbonfiber:

"The Custom Styling Rings are available in three beautiful styles. The burlwood models have the rich look of hand-rubbed, grained and knotted burlwood. The carbon fiber models feature the high tech look of woven carbon fiber, the space age material used in aerospace and in Formula 1 racing. The rosewood models offer the traditional beauty of a rich, full-grained wood with a beautiful high gloss finish"

on thier site they go for $55
