For all who have amps installed... Where did you wire the rem wire to?? Currently I have it going to the lighter in the front and I don't like it being there.. Anyone have any suggestions on another place???

I just had an amp installed but I don't know much about audio electronics....which wire is the rem wire? If you mean the wire that powers the amp, they ran a wire from my positive battery terminal-->through the firewall-->under the door sills-->into the trunk where the amp is mounted.

Thats the power wire... If you look on your amp you will see 3 wires connected to it side by side by side, the ground wire, rem wire, and the power wire.... The rem (remote) wire is the little one that goes from the amp to the radio so that the amp comes on and goes off when the radio comes on.. My rem wire is connected to the lighter so the amp comes on when I turn the car on and goes off when I turn the car off, whether or not the radio is on....

I think you can tap into the stock amp. Try asking the guys in the stereo forum.

yeah, tap into the headunits power. find the wire that is not a "constant" power, rather the "switched" power. I think it usually an orange wire.
