Hi, all:

I have had my 2k2 GLE for a little over two weeks. Although enjoyed to be a new member here and excited about the new car, I started to notice this problem a couple of days ago:
When I started the engine, put on reverse, back up the car, then shift to 'D' and drive. I heard a weird sound coming from the front of the car. The sound only occured once. I had to stop the engine, started again, reverse and drive to make it happen again. Also if I start the engine then drive without backing up first, I would not hear the sound.
Hard to describe what it sounds like, but kind of like rubbering noise mixed with some metal impact.

Anybody seen the similar problem on their 2k2s? Any idea what that might be?

I'm not sure but are you coming to a complete stop in reverse before you put it in drive? cuz one time i was reversing for a while at about 10-15 mph and then put it in D b4 stopping and the car made a sound like that and stalled. scary stuff. but better get it checked out.
