2000 Bumper Scratch Fix: Anybody fix it themselves?

Has any 2000 owner replaced the bumper clips on the rear as opposed to having a dealer perform the operation? The known problem (TSB) was the scratch marks from closing of the trunk.

Wondering what the replacement procedure was like. The dealer wants to keep my car for days to do the fix, which means I would need to rent a car. Rent a car makes it seem more feasible to just do it myself.

The dealer provided me with a rental car while they replaced the clips and sent my car to the bodyshop to have the bumper repainted. Just tell them that you want it repainted and they will give you a 'courtesy' rental car. (Bankston Nissan in Irving Texas - props to them!)

Don't know what the deal is - they kept mine for a few days - but they also repainted my rear bumper - they fixed the bumper part in the morning - sent it to the body shop for repainting that afternoon. If they aren't willing to repaint, you should have it back same day.
