Thinking about getting a wood dash kit for my 2K2...

I'm going to order my custom leather (solid color...I'm conservative) for my car (black on black). I kinda wanted to dress up the interior so I thought about getting a wood dash kit. I've seen some out there that look incredibly fake, and ofcourse, thats not what I want. I want to stay with a darker hue of wood and only use it modestly. Can anyone suggest a good kit, or perhaps tell me I'm stupid for thinking of putting woodgrain in a 2K2 SE?

I like that, but I want my interior to be more luxurious than sporty. The outside is sporty enough, I want to be coddled inside.

do a search for "wood dashkit."

im looking for one also for my SE (i have a frost interior, so the aluminum and carbon fiber would look weird in my car so that leaves me with the wood.)

and i found a bunch of information from searching.

try searching on ebay too.

My car has a dark interior. That looks like the stuff that have on the Acura CL-S. I dont care for it too much.

I went for a molded dash kit for my car with a rosewood finish. Got my kit at Autodash Emporium. Check out their website, they have a pretty wide variety of colors to choose from.

I bought a molded kit for the same exact car, and it looks great! I only bought a small kit that contains the piece around the shifter, the ash tray consle piece and the 4 doors. Like you I didn't want to use to much. I think I paid a little over 100 bucks for it. There are many sites to buy from. I reccommend getting the molded type for a perfect fit and easy installation. Comes in many shades, just check the internet. But It looks good!

That actually looks very nice. I dont want my car to be like a Bentley inside (well, I do.......but..), just want a splash of woodgrain here and there to liven it up a bit. I think the cherry or red burl is the perfect color with the dark gray plastic and black leather seats.

I've been looking also and I haven't found the kit I'm looking for yet. Given my color I think carbon fiber would real look good. I want as many parts as I can with out over doing it. And the Mitatrim is the first I've seen that has door rings.
I've seen several Mercedes that have it all over and I like the look.
Here are a few:
www.wooddashfactory.com
www.autoanything.com
www.dashboardsplus.com
www.autodash.com

There are many more out there. I hear molded kits install easier and some of these have both like autodash.com but I can't find a single kit that all that I want and I don't want the nightmare of matching problems so I'll keep looking.

Thanks

nope they are in canada..sorry!!

I bought one piece from them to replace one that was totally the wrong size

it fit perfectly and the color is gorgeous...it is a little darker than the trim that I already have but I'd rather have that than the big gap that was there before....

and you can see my trim tomorrow at towers!!!

How's the dash kit holding to the interior so far?
If it's still looking and holding good that's a really good deal...
