Re: one more recall

It would probably help if you would search the site before posting stuff that has been up here for a week now.

Sure, the rumors have been flying around for awhile, but the official NHTSA bulletin hasn't been up for a week. It just popped up on NHTSA on 6/11. I'd looked like the night before that and it wasn't there. When I woke up the next morning, it suddenly showed up. Nissan's site still doesn't have any info about this recall, so I have no idea if my VIN is in the affected range (my dealer doesn't know, I called them already).

Look at your car's manufacture date. If it is btn 06/2001 - 01/2002, your car is affected. Getting it done tomorrow.

Bulldawg, give 02max a break man.

Yes, mine falls within those dates, I told my dealer and they still blew me off saying that recalls may only affect certain VINs within that range and to wait for the notice. It didn't sound like he knew any more details.

I contacted Nissan North america when I first heard about this junk and they said you don't need to recieve the notice to get the recall done. All you have to do is call your dealer and give them your VIN number and they can look it up on there database. I did this and I have an appointment on the 21st. If they try to give you any s**t then just tell them that Nissan North america told you to do this. Plus remember you have the upper hand because I think that is stupid of them to think we are going to drive around with a busted car. If they still give you trouble tell them Bulldawg said to "Fix your mother F***in car"

Re: one more recall

I have called my dealer today about this recall, and he said that only 6,000 maximas are affected by this. I did not have my VIN # so he could not tell me if my model is affected by it. He said that it is a pretty slight chance that it could be my car but I think he id just trying to weisel his way out of fixing it.

I just called my local dealer about the recall. He asked me if I got the notice and I let him know that NNA said to call the dealer. He ran my VIN number and called me back to set up service. I must say I have had very good luck dealing with the service dept. at this dealership. Anyone else in central Jersey, try Somerset Nissan.
