2002 Maxima

Hi everyone,

i am having probs with my new maxima. it has 2,000miles on it and for the past 2 days, the car is stuttering to accerelate when in D gear. and the "check engine soon" light comes on.

Does anybody know why this is happening???
it shouldnt have probs since it is a brand new car!

Thanks.

Re: 2002 Maxima

best advice i can give you is to take it to the dealer and have them draw the code from the ECU.

did u ever have the same prob?
i brought it to my own mechanic and they said it's the tranny.
how can a brand new car have tranny probs so soon??

do u know anyone who has experience this before?

no i didnt have the same problem. i dont think ive heard of anyone having problems with an automatic transmission this early (your are is automatic, correct?)
i would seriously doubt that it is the transmission but who knows. whatever it is, it is under warranty. i really recommend taking it to the dealer.

It's definatally a production flaw...my sister has 170,000 miles on her '95 Automatic tranny and it still shifts just fine..and the 2k2 tranny's are made better.

If it's throwing a code, it could just be a sensor. Have you done any maintnence on it yet (check the air filter?)? There was a post a few days ago where a member went into limp mode after leaving Jiffy Lube.
