Got my Maxspeeds on

Well, it took me about 3 hours, and 1 of those hours was disassembling the trunk But I got them all in and I measured the front before and after. Before 28" even, from ground to fender lip, after 26.7", I expect another .3-.4" drop after some settling. The ride is good, no more squating when accelerating, or nosediving. Still have the stock SE struts, I didn't kmow they were Tokico's from the factory. Hopefully my 60' times will improve since the weight transfer is all but gone. Car looks 110% better now, I should have pics up on my homepage tomorrow.

Im not sure if there's a direct realation....but I ran a 14.8. and my brother ran a 15.2 both with Frankencars.... I swear I launch better with the Maxspeeds. I also have a FSTB and a RSB. My car handles TIGHT ! I love it. After about 2 months I can say I have about a 1.5 drop up front and 1.2 in back .

Alright, help a "suspension illiterate" person out. What exactly are maxspeeds? Are they just replacement springs? What is involved in putting them in?

I think they definately helped my launch because the front end does not jump up anymore with the weight transfer, so basically is keeps the weight on the front tires. My 60' went from high 2.4's to an average of mid to low 2.3's.

with the on going questions on trimming the bumpstops...did anyone here have to do it? I got my maxspeeds from the last GD but haven't put them on because this queston keeps coming up with HR's and Eibach springs...does it apply to us too?

Yes, they are lowering springs.

H&R says no trim, Eibach says trim, so different people say different things. I have not trimmed mine on the H&R's and I have loaded that car with people on shiite roads and no bottoms... So I don't think they need to be trimmed provided that you have the right spring rate...

It seems like we have similar taste. I have had 4 stangs before the max, including 2 93' Cobra's. One difference though, you still have yours I presume, and I unfortunately got rid of mine.

Are you going to the meet today?
