HID kit for 5th Gen 2001 Maxima

I got a question for all of you who know a thing or two about HID headlights. I'm a bit confused, several people have told me several different things. I want to Install HID on my 2001 Maxima, my dealership says it can't be done, and they won't even sell me the parts. Other people say it can be done in only a few hours time. I know Maxima.org's FAQ section said that its not a good idea to install HID Kits becuase you will loose your high-beams. But I am planning on replacing the ENTIRE unit ... As in I am going to buy 2002 headlights that are the "camera lens" style with the xenon bulbs in them. Essentailly I am going to put 2002 HID headlights in a 2001 maxima, why would this be a problem, the units themselves will fit So wouldn't those have high beams ???

I know it sounds like a dumb question, but hey I'm blonde ya know. If anyone knows if this can or can't be done please e-mail me: vodkkaa@charter.net

Thanks SO much

actually...

its really easy. there is some wiring to be done as the plugs are different. But its really quite simple. Its a good idea to use a relay for the highbeams. In the 2k1, low and high beams come on separately, but on 2k2s, they come on together. Again, not really hard, there are writeups in the how to section above.

OK so where would be the best place to buy the 02 HID's? I would like to get them for an anniversary present this year. Thanks. Stefnee
