I picked on a Mustan V6...a 95-97 model. I just hate when guys drive V6 Mustangs and Camaros and they think they are driving the Cobra or Z28 SS.

I was on my way home on a 3 lane Ave. There was not much room to really take off, but when we both were at the light he gunned it. I let him have a bout 1 1/2 car lengths ahead.... Then... The Maxx realed him like a sick, fat fish. I slowed down a bit to let him gain, then side by side about 60mph or so. I took off, he tryed to keep up but Sorry.... anyways he turned right at the next corner.... sorry guys... I had to do it.

a kill is a kill?

what if its a Geo Metro? i dont think that would be a kill, i can walk faster than that thing. but i would call a mustang a kill, they have pretty descent engines for a cheap priced domestic car.

If you have read Maxx-s-ter's post more cautiously, you will realized the one he raced against was a "V6" Mustang. Which IMO is a POS...

On the other hand the Mustang GT fitted with a 4.6L
V8 good for 215HP stock, that i think is a closer match to the 5th gen Max. I also must add that I have surprised quite a few Mustang owners at the light...

Thanks!

I still have not found a decent competitor out there that will hang with me (excluding wild Mo'd Hondas or big V8's)but wont back down if I am tempted.

Even the 94-97 GT are not that fast. I smoked a GT and a V6 in my 4cyl Accord (mods up the ***), The GT I smoked at over 130mph!!!

if GT's have mods then it's on!!!
or the newer GT with 260 HP

I picked on a nice yellow 4.6 SOHC (96-98 style) with a black stripe the other day.

Wife and I are leaving the house and pull out onto the main road just as the Mustang is coming up. I left it in 2nd and slowed so he could come up.

I stayed even with him for a brief moment and then gunned it just enough to jump a bumper or so on him. He, of course responded and we were off.

I pulled on him until the end of 2nd then powershifted into 3rd - OOOOPS - like a dolt I missed the shift and banged the rev limiter twice (hate that)before I got it in. By now he had 2 cars on me and we approached a light.

At the light we both turned right - he waited for me and we were on it. Again pulled him in second then powershifted into third (got it right this time) and pulled on him to about 80 when he decided he was beat and dropped back. I slowed down but he stayed back.

I had 3/4 to 1 car length on him and was walking away. Maybe he didn't know how to drive it but I was quite satisfied except for that missed shift - Redline coming soon.

That's right, a stock 93-95 GT(5.slow) can just match a manual 5th gen in 0-60(6.7 secs). The 96-98 GTs(4.6) were even slower. Ford messed up with their tuning, and the time soared up to 7-flat. But now they fixed it, and the 4.6 can run to 60mph in 5.5
