How often do you clean your K&N filter?

The recommended service interval for K&N air filters used under normal conditions is 50,000 to 100,000 miles. How many of you actually follow the recommended service schedule?

I cleaned mine with less than 7K because I thought it looked dirty. BTW, y2kse I knew this poll was coming.

Flawed survey because if you have a cai, that thing gets dirty 3x faster than a cone intake inside the engine bay.

Yes and no, Jeff. The question is whether anyone gets close to following K&Ns recommended air filter maintenance interval. So far the answer is a resounding NO!

That recommended air filter service is probably just legal bs. If your air filter is visibly dirty, clean it, if not don't.
They say in the insert a dirty filter just helps filter more dirt. But at the same time it impedes airflow.

Don't I know it!
With a CAI, the filter gets dirtier faster, AND it's more difficult to reach. These are 2 aspects of the CAI I will not miss now that I've converted to a Hybrid.

I clean my K&N every 6 months. Once at the end of Spring, when all the pollen is gone, and again at the end of the fall when all the leaves are cleaned up.

It's amazing how much crap gets up into the airbox even on the stock setup.

i've had my apexi for a month now and it still looks spotless the lack of oil must make it shed the dirt.
