it just happened and I dont believe it! Here I go cruising on the freeway in the middle lane at 60 mph in 5th gear. There's a mid 90's Lexus LX 400 (300hp) to the right, and all of a sudden he takes off! I shift to 3rd and almost redline it at like 95mph, Lex is behind, he has lost and shut down. I have no performance mods, only a heavy sub box, and 18" rims. Could a 2K manual Max beat a 400LX on the roll or I'm just lucky?!

those things are highway monsters, you can't win that thing from a roll, it has a V8 in it with tons of torque and HP

 

first of all, theres no LX400 theres a LS400, and second was the lexus you raced still goin at it at the time you decided to shift into 3rd and gun it...? if he was also acceling at the same time you decided to go at it with him then nice kill...i myself want to beat a GS400, i always race them... got a little surprise for them this summer.

I figured I might as well add my two cents, since everyone is correcting everyone. True, there has never been an LX400...sedans of the past were LS400 for the huge one and GS400 for the sporty one. There was also GS300 in the same body as the GS400, an older version of the GS300 in a different body, also a front-wheel drive Camry-cousin of the ES300. Coupes were the SC400 and SC300, sharing the same body. The new big sedan is now the LS430 and the new sporty sedan is the GS430, sharing the same body with the GS300. As for the kill, good job. A good friend of mine has an LS400, and it's kind of a dog. I'm glad you beat him!

oh guys c'mon. LX or LS, it was one of those big cars with a big V8 rated at 300hp. As far as mid 90's, then I didnt stop the guy and ask him what was the year of his car. It could be a 1993 for a sake. Also, I didnt know if the guy was really trying to race me, but you figure it out if he went from 60 mph to like 80+ mph in a matter of seconds.

Yes, as soon as I see him take off, I shifted into 3rd and it took me awhile to gain him, but I did and got some space in front of him. Thanks
