FSTB made a "thunk" noise...

I took a corner fairly fast today in the rain and heard a "thunk" noise which I think came from the FSTB I recently installed. It came from the side on the outside of the turn. Everything looked and felt solid afterwards so I'm really not sure what it was. Should I be concerned?

Another thing I should mention is that when I tightened the plates (34ft-lbs), they bent a little bit (i.e. they're no longer flat). This is most noticeable on the side I heard the noise on. Am I on the verge of a FSTB-related tragedy here or what?

FSTB noise

What type of FSTB do you have? I got the one from CN and the bar had a little bit of play between the bar itself and the endplates so I put a rubber washer in there and no problems at all. The bar is very snug now. Does that help??
