So your cost on the whole setup is like $30 tops. So you only ripping people on the .org by how much? And you call this helping us out and making it affordable? You aint doing nothing but trying to make a buck.

actually ever midpipe is handmade by me and sometimes Mattsy, i do not get them from a distributor and powdercoating is a little more then that too. have you seen how much couplers cost, about 5 bucks per 3 inch one and you need two. the filters i've actually bought from a couple different places. last time i check PR was getting like 90-100 bucks for their upper piece, i get 55 shipped. i'm off to MAKE some intakes now.

Look at his prices online now, they aint cheap at all.

I have never seen Steve show up on a thread to brag. Hell, I never even knew that dmbmaxima88 was the guy behind Frankencar. Maybe I haven't been here long enough, but the only people I see ranting and raving about the Frankencar are people like me who have bought it.

And, again, why do you care what his profit margin is? He's not in business to serve us. He is in business to make money. Plus he provides us with a value. While I haven't seen his latest online prices, I do know that I got a midpipe delivered to my door with couplers, clamps, stickers, and instructions for $60.

If supply and demand warrants a price hike, so be it.

I mean the dynos that are shown from before are in Wisonsin or something like that, in December. I mean, 10 Deg out and any intake is going produce numbers.

At night and on cooler days it does fine, but when it gets above 90 here my performance goes to crap. I just don't like sucking up hot air under my hood. I think the Injen will perform better, and it looks great. I wanted silver before, so now I can get the color I wanted too.

I think I am going to use a day and dyno the Frankencar, the Injen, and stock, when it is over 90 here and I will let everyone know what the real deal is. Then all this nonsense can stop.

sounds good man....i got basically same issue cuz now its gonna be 85+ in cali all day everyday and my car doesnt pull as much either...but since im not thinkn performance doesnt really bug, but it would be nice to know...i like to go slow so ppl can see my car

Prices are down cause you know the injen intake is better. Dont scam that by me. I would be suprised if you bought one just to see it actually is and try to make your like it.

I'm Getting Froggy!!
I am sitting here reading all this and I can't believe what I am reading.

Actually I think I have to side with Dixit on this one. Yes, I do remember Steve jumping on every thread talking about his "product". He may not have been bragging, but my man was all over the place.

Now Steve, I have sat and waited and still haven't heard your response to my issue. It has been brought up by me and now Dixit. You failed to provide good service to me, your response was (and I quote) "my bad". You still have not said anything about this.

WTF?!?! Are you blind to the fact that you screwed me? You basically took my money and sent me something I DID NOT WANT. I dint want blue, I have never liked blue on my car. Now I am forced to move on to something else "better" that fits what I DO want. I tried to give you a chance, and thought because you were so early in the game, but that was BS. I fooled myself into thinking that. As a businessman you should have corrected the problem. Key word is "business". You need to go back to college and take BUS101.

I am wasting my breath, because "buyer beware" is the term, and I got burned.

Now I got a case of the a$$ and have to go to bed grittin my teeth. Damn!

I'M OUT!

if i recall, i can't find the thread, but i'm looking i offered to send otu the correct one and you said that the blue would do, i've always been good to my customers and corrected problems, ask around.

and i have toned down the promoting of my product, not people start threads askign about my intakes and being that i would know them best i respond and answer their questions and concerns as best i can.

How have you toned it down? You were at the Jersey meet displaying you car like the peoples do at Times Square or DC when they sell shirts or other goodies.

You aint got no business sense. All you have is the sense of making money and no concern for anything else.

the frankencar intake sounds really nice, give a good kick as well. now i personally havent tried the injen intake, but ill bet anything that in hot weather it will make more power. but how much more, the simple answer is gonna be like 2more a the wheel. only from the cooler air. now in the winter its gonna be about the same thing as the injen, cold air or not. for the money the frankencar is a good deal. now steve i have to admit, those are some ghetto couplers, but they work thats all im concerned about. now the temp differances from under the hood and outside air is this, i plugged in my scanner and drove around, while driving the temp held at a steady 110-112. with cold air its gonna be only as cold as the outside air, which here in Phx, AZ is like 110 anyway. when the car stops is when ud see a temp diff, on the frankencar it went up to about 160 but on a cold air it stays at the same temp as the outside air. in the summer the car just doesnt pull the way it does in winter bottom line. both intakes work and that it. whatever is between u two is personal and should stay personal, not this way arguing. dixit u have sevaral good points and so does steve, im not here to take sides. anyway keep posted about the dyno, just curious. take care and Peace.

What is the real issue here?

1. You got sent the wrong pipe and he didn't fix the situation?
2. There are potentially better intakes out there on the market?
3. Steve is actually making an effort to sell his products?
4. Steve allegedly lowered his prices in an apparent fear that Injen is going to put him out of business?

While I can't necessarily defend Steve on the poor customer service issue, I can certainly defend him on BigDog's attack on his business practices. How did Steve offend you by selling intakes out of his car at a meet? And why are you so disturbed by the way he sets his prices? It is HIS BUSINESS. NOT YOURS.

I am not a "gangsta", nor do I normally use the vernacular of one, but for a lack of better words, I must say that you (BigDog) are a "playa hata".

If you don't like his product, don't buy it. But your attacks on him are completely unwarranted and childish.

yup u got a point on that andy. it is his business and he can run it, advertise, ect... any which way he wants. that something u have no control over. u havent been screwed in any way by him orr his products so just leave it be, i understand about him doin a buck 50 but thats his bad. now the business u have no right to talk down on because considered to the other intake, the prices are pretty good. easy as this, just dont buy it if u dont like it, and steve stop driving fast! now im not here to take sides, so just chill...peace

Speaking of brackets, I could never get mine to fit right. It seemed to be too long where the hole was so I cut it some more and still couldn't get it to fit right. When I put it on my intake was sitting higher than the hood. If I would close the hood it would hit the Filter. I dropped the Idea and left it hang.

Steve, I am not saying I hate you, or your system. In fact I raved about it when I got it, and raved about it to a couple guys this weekend. It sounds great, and works well in cooler weather. I just have to switch for my personal reasons.

As for the offer to switch the unit, I remember something like that (kinda) but I had already installed the unit and didn't feel like messin with it again, so I just dealt with it. Yeah I guess I have been peeved this whole time about it. I have said my bit, and it is over. Moving past it now. My advice is next time don't ask, just do what you think is right to fix the situation. If I would have recieved the correct unit in the mail I would have done back-flips and praised your service. That is just my .02.

I had to mount mine backwards and bend it a bit in a vice. But it eventually fit. Don't let that MAF sensor bounce around in there!

I have had no alignment problems with my AGX's. But then I also have the camber bolts, which helps quite a bit. And the lifetime alignment from Firestone, which is a great deal.

I usually get an alignment every 6 months.

you have 4th gen shocks with 4th gen springs...they have problem with 5thgen spring on the 4th gen AGX.

the perch of 4th gen rear AGX is too big for the eibach and it doest settle into it properly. that was Deven's problem with cattman's AGX.
