2002 Maxima hesitation problem PART4
2002 Maxima hesitation problem PART4
I contaced Nissan headquarter in Gardena, Ca. It is not far from me so it is easier. I talked to consumer affairs directly. She said she had never heard of this problem before but she will follow up. If we all let her know, she will know the severity of the problem and will push the matter up the chain faster. Here is what I would like you to do:
Call them directly (I will have her name and number later). Or if you can't wait, the headquater number is 310 5323111. I will have her direct line for you.
Send an email to maxima_bugs@yahoo.com, stating your name, the dealer, the problem, and vehicle ID. I will present them in person, on behalf of all of you.
Does this sound like a plan ?
Went to a Nissan dealer this morning and as expected, they never heard of this hesitation problem. The service guy did tell me there is a recall on driver side airbag.
Please watch for PART5 coming.
Thanks

Re: 2002 Maxima hesitation problem PART4
Alan,
Thanks to you and Kev for spearheading this. There have been a number of posts on this already, but it was unclear to me that there was uniform support from the Maxima.org community around one plan or another.
I too have noticed the problem in my '02 SE 6-speed, and would be interested in learning of a resolution. I will go pull my VIN and send you that email.
Should I have reported this problem to my dealer before including my dealer name for you?
Thanks,
Seth

Alan -
Thanks for your work.
Just bought my Blk/Blk 6spd on SATURDAY and have already noticed the stumble. I thought it was just the break-in, but I have less than 200 miles and it appeared right outta the box!
I Imagine the dealer will not be happy when I tell them no fix ~ no MONEY since I haven't given them a check yet....HA!
Anyway - include me in the forray, i'll beat them silly from this end, you get 'em from Cali.
I'll be sending my details to you asap.
Thanks!
Nate

QUANSUNG--
Ditto that.
Same thing from my car - JUST like an auto.
Haven't noticed it beyond 3rd YET.
Check-out the thread from ALUI, and give Nissan a blast on the phone.
This is sounding more like the '00 -'01 issue everyday.
If we all get on Nissan, maybe they'll give us a TSB issue before too long.
Don't hold your breath.

Just like I said - partial to full throttle in lower gears (esp. 1st) will give you an immediate stumble in the fuel/power delivery that FEELS just like the upshift of an automatic trans.
It is quite unmistakable when you're getting on it.
Take particular notice when performing a street start (rolling full throttle acceleration) from 3000rpm on up....the stumble should hit you right away when you step on it.
Let me know what you find.
BTW--
I'm looking into new lights for Highs/Fogs/Markers/Reverse.....saw you have the Eaglights - can you recommend them???
Seen lots of opinions on these and others - Don't want to spend the money on the PIAA's, but I do want to color match the HID's as closely as possible.
I am willing to sacrifice a little blue color in favor of white to get LESS YELLOW and MORE LIGHT on the road vs. the OEM h3's.
Can you give me your opinions on the EAGLIGHTS and recommendations??
Please include the specs, colors and numbers.
Muchicimas Gracias!

I have the 100W Plasma Xenons for my high beams and I must say that I love them. They are freakin bright!!! They do have a blue tint to them but it looks good at night. They go nicely with the HIDs. I got them off midnightmoose.com for $20 plus shipping. I have heard that the Eaglights and the Philips blue vision are both good for fogs. I am most likely going to get the Philips when I get around to it. I will most likely order my marker lights from there as well. I want a total white look to the front of the car. They are worth the money.
Heres the link for the highs http://www.midnightmoose.com/9005.htm
