Ypipe Sensors?

After all my research, I'm still not sure there is a Ypipe that doesnt have issues with their sensors. Can anybody proove otherwise?

As far as I can tell, nobody has had issues with sensors (O2?) on the y-pipe. Are you referring to the MAF sensors on the intakes?

No, the o2 sensors. I have read about all different brands having their check engine light coming on after they installed the ypipe.

Can you post some of the threads you are referring to? Maybe that would help us answer your question.

Nope. No buzzing sounds either . . . at least not in my Cattman Y-pipe.

Bees-in-a-can sounds are common in the Stillen pipe (taken care of by header wrap according to several members) and I do encounter it on my Cattman pipe. I think it is a hit-or-miss thing with the older pipes, but both Cattman and Warpspeed claim to, now, completely eliminate that buzzing with the use of their new, cutting edge, state-of-the-art, super-efficient lined flex-sections.

Back up rubber man. I have that problem as well. I get the CEL about once every tank of gas. I clear it every tank of gas. Nissan said I will continue to get it until I put the stock y-cats back in place. So the question is still un-answered, doexs anyone have a solution to this problem ??

I don't believe it is a widespread problem. Maybe I'm wrong, haven't done a search. But y2kse is speaking from experience and so am I. He's had his on for over a year and me for over six months. I've never flipped a CEL nor have I had any noticeable problems with the y-pipe. I have a Cali-spec y-pipe so the front pre-cat is still on. Are you driving a 2000, Fed-spec?

I have had a stillen Y-pipe for about a year and a half when I started to get this reoccuring problem. See this pic from Austin this weekend. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...41456849fawHzg as well as www.clyatt.com/maxima . The bad flex was probably the start of it but the dealer has diagnosed twice and said it is the fact the precats have been removed. I thought we were talking about an aftermarket y-pipe on the car if not then my bad but if we are talking about an aftermarket piece then this is the possible results..

Best guess? Bad O2 sensor. Check the TSBs.

I saw there was a TSB and attempted to inquire but the number that is posted wants 50 bucks to do the research. Has anyone seen or have a copy of this TSB it looks as if it was just released earlier this year. On that note who makes a good o2 sensor for our cars ?

To repeat my question...do you have a Fed-spec Maxima or a Cali-spec. It is a different y-pipe and I'm curious which one you seem to have had a problem with. On the Fed-spec, both from pre-cats are removed while only the rear bank pre-cat is removed on the Cali-spec.
