New 2002 Model Recall?!?!

Just received this e-mail from another group and was curious what you guys (and ladies) know about it. I did a very quick search of the forum and didn't return any results. My apologies if this indeed is a redundant topic.

Recall Alert: INFINITI I30, INFINITI I35, NISSAN MAXIMA
Owner Notification Date: 5/30/2002
Number of Units Potentially Affected: 90,500
Component Description: SUSPENSION:INDEPENDENT FRONT CONTROL ARM:LOWER
NHTSA Campaign Number: 02V146000
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------
Description of Recall Campaign: Vehicle Description: Passenger
vehicles. The pin at the end of the front suspension transverse link
(lower control arm) could break where it is mounted to the frame.
This can cause a knocking sound and abnormal steering. This could
result in difficulty controlling the vehicle, increasing the risk of
a crash.

Dealers will replace the transverse links on the left and right sides
with new ones. Owner notification is expected to begin during June
2002. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an
agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a
reasonable time should contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261 or Infiniti
at 1-800-662-6200.

I don't think you really ran a search. This has been spoken about several times.

My apologies. I'm new to this forum, internet, computer thing and even though I did search, I obviously didn't find what I was looking for. Can any of you post a link to a thread where this is being (or has been) discussed?? Thanks!!!

Just call!

Call NNA and give them your Vin and they will tell you if your car is affected. Then just make an appointment at your local dealership. Mine is next weds. They all know of the recall by now.
