She said no. She got on a plane the following day and moved back to New Hampshire. My life is ruined.
J/K.. She said yes. It was SO PIMP how it happened too. We got a casita at the Royal Palms hotel here in Phoenix, which I would recommend to ANYONE looking for a romantic weekend.
Our casita was adjacent to this enclosed garden area with an alter where they conduct weddings. So I went to the valet before dinner and had him coordinate with our waiter to call each other as soon as we were done eating. The valet would then run over to the alter and set the engagement ring on the top of the alter so it would be sitting there waiting for us.
We got out of dinner and walked over there. We actually saw the valet hauling *** in front of us to beat us there, but she never caught on (I stopped in the path and hugged her so she wouldn't see him running in there- hehe).
She walked up, saw it and started crying. Then I had to bend down to pick it up so I got on one knee and popped the question. She said yes...with no hesitation either- always a good sign.
We got back to the room and housekeeping had made a rose petal heart on the bed, left a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and Godiva chocolates. There was also some cheesy quote about "planting the seed" that was left there because the concierge knew we were getting engaged. And her favorite song was playing on the CD player in our room when we walked in- Sade- By My Side.
Needless to say, she totally ate it up.........
I apologize sincerely in advance to any of those who are offended by the lovey-doveyness of this thread.

RE: If you all want to come down to Jamaica in May.....SURE!
We were going to Jamaica for our 1 year Anniversary and two day before we left I lost my passport
. I was told that I can go but I might not be able to come back into America.
Needless to say Jamaica is nice to visit but I don't believe I would like to live there.
So seeing that I missed one trip to Jamaica I'll be there with bells and a black derby on.

my sincere congratulations! there's no better feeling in the world than when she looks into your eyes and with tears welling up says yes, and you can tell that it is the happiest day of her life. the day i proposed is as clear in my mind today as it was when i really did it a year ago. (i know, long time huh!) enjoy eachother and let me tell you upfront...choose your battles. don't argue over going to the inlaws for dinner, save it for the important choices you have to make and that you feel strongly about, ie. where the kids are going to school, or getting the sc for the max...just had to throw that in! lol
best wishes!
best wishes!
Thanks guys.
We've already had our first post-engagement fight about our stupid ******* wedding. Frankly I could give a rat's ***. I just don't want her family going on our honeymoon with us.....
But she's a keeper for sure.........
