Gas Mileage

I have a Maxima 2002 GLE.

How many miles are you getting on a full tank of gas? Does anyone know how to get more by way of modifications?

Thanks

If you can read the guages you can see where I'm at mileage wise on a Full tank of gas, driving at normal speeds. DTE for me is ~ 160 from there.

I have an SE auto 02 and get anywhere from 320 to 360 depending on driving style. Thats with 35 % highway and rest rural type roads. I do not let get real empty on the gauge. If I wanted to take a chance I could get 400 Im sure

I managed to get roughly 220 miles on half a tank of gas (filled up after that and checked how much i put back in) - or roughly 24mpg a couple of times after the highway speed limits here in Houston was lowered (55mph).

If purely city driving i'm lucky if i can get 19mpg.

You definitely have to change your username

Btw, a NAV is considered a mod... should give you 5hp to the wheels j/k

Re: Re: Gas Mileage

My new GLE 2002 Max is almost 2 months old now and I use 93 octane gas. No mods. I only get 295-300 miles to a full tank and I never gun it or anything. I have yet to get over 300 and I completely empty the tank. I drive 30 miles daily in the city. I'm in SA, Texas.

Is there any mods that I can make to get better mileage? Please advise.

Thanks
KTIPP

Re: Re: Re: Gas Mileage

We'll, after going off of the mileage and not the trip I still only get 290 miles a tank. I made sure that I didn't go over 2000 RPM's. By the way, my trip matched my mileage calculation.

Thanks

I use 93 or 94 gasoline for my auto 2k SE.
Drive on the highway 90% of the time. My optimal speed is about 85mph. On the summer I get about 360 miles for about 16.5Gallons. In the winter it's much less than that, probably not more than 310.

I did a test where I put 6 gallons of prem. in my tank anf it gave me 128 miles B4 the light came on. Then I put 6 gallons of reg. in and got 117 miles B4 the light came on. I would rather put reg in my tank. Do yell at me for putting reg. in my tank it's reccomended to put 92 or above in for maximium performance.

First of all, I would not use the 'empty light' as an accurate reading of how many gas you have left in your tank.
And second of all - it's your car, so it's up to you what kind of gas to use. In my case, I own the Max, and want to get out of it as much life as possible, so this is a primary reason why I use 93+ gas.

My last car 175,000 miles on it b4 it was stolen and set on fire. My roomate had the same car with less mileage on his and his crapped out on him b4 mine and I used reg thoughout the time I had it. Throw some engine cleaner in your tank and run on the highway and it's good to go. If you want to buy expensive gas go right ahead if I want to put the cheap $hit in and risk my engine of breaking down I don't care. I got 32,000 mile on my car now and I know it will run till it has 100,000 plus miles on it. either way it will be worth it's value while I own it.
