2k1 Automatic Tranny

Do some of you with the crappy auto tranny on the 2k1 get this really harsh shift when you go like 15 or 20, and then you give it like half way gas, and tranny just pops 1st gear in and the whole car jumps. the shift to 1st is so harsh, you can get like a neck injury, it comes in such a hard way that everyone inside and outdside looking at the car thinks its crazy.

I am not talking about manaul shifting, when the tranny is in D going really slow and then accelerating fast, the gear pops 1st in so hard that the whole car is shaking. and you hear like a thunk, like a hit but to the tranny.

My friend's 2k1 SE has the EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!! We were discussing it today. He has about 16,000mi on his.

Has anyone been to the dealer about this yet?... We couldn't find a TSB on it. Just TSBs for the shift delay between gears.

Thanks,
G

Mine shifts down into 1st pretty hard, but no THUNK or anything. I think it feels nice. It's a refreshing change from the slow, luxury shifts the automagic is so good at.

My 2K1 does the same.. have about 25K on mines. When I haven't used it for a lil while I get hard shifts in D. Feels good, it's like powershifting!

I'm with the others on this one. I don't actually hear a thunk, at best it does feel like powershifting and that's a pretty nice change from the "extremely-soft-did-the-transmission-already-change-gears?" feeling.
