paint 2k2 grill

hi guys
I just took my grill off and washed it
I bought some chrome spray paint ( i think it looks good on black), what are the things I need to pay attention to?
and is the paint gonna start on there? or is it gonna peel off eventually?
btw, is there any picture out there with painted 2k2 grill?
I am not sure if I want to paint the whole grill of just the big horizontal grills????
thanks

sorry OT but did you change your screen name. anyway make sure you put lots of coats or it will chip eventually like the hood and maybe start peeling

i have my grill painted black. check out my homepage. dmbmaxima88 also has his grill painted. his is Majestic blue.

i would recommend getting it professionally painted for $50. it will look better and it will hold up better than spray paint.

ya I used to be "TAWR3000"

I just read my post, its messed up, let me make it easier to read

1. if I paint my grill using spray paint, is it eventually going to chip / peel off?

2. is there anything I should do beside wash it first?

3. should I paint the whole grill or just the two horizontal lines?

1. i dont know for sure but since the grill is on the front of the car and it will get hit by rocks every now and then it very well could chip and start to flake.

2. ive never painted anything on my car myself before but im assuming you should sand it. i know sanding is always a part of a professional painting process. though, im not sure of the exact reason for sanding.

3. i say paint the whole thing. i like it when things are uniform.

I also would recommend going to a professional to do this. I did and it didnt cost me a thing. The nissan dealership did it for free when they painted my kit. just go to body shop and offer 30 bucks do to it, Im sure they will.
