Hey guys, while I was browsing the Canadian Tire webstore, I found a section where they sell a lot of performance products, to my surprise I found and ECU for our Maxima, it is made by Jet Performance products ??? it sell for 502$ CDN approx 325$US.

I know this subject has been heavily discuss and I readed almost every post about ECU, so I guess the question is does anyone know about this company and that ECU, it's the first time I heard of them, anyway here is the link: http://www.driverfx.com/products/pro...le=en_CA&tab=3

Meantime I will do some search to see if this is a bogus ECU or really effective!!!

to use one of their products on my '97 Ram and it did 'squat'. I can only imagine a unit for the Max would not do anything either.

I mean, if it couldn't help a big 5.9l V8 do ANYTHING...I doubt it would have any real effects on a V6 that is very efficient to start with....

 

I heard it was BS too.....

They don't even provide dyno's

I saw it today and hes pretty much done

Hes tweaking the fuel right now....should be completely stable and driveable by the beginning-middle of next week (would be this weekend but i have work )

I sent Jetchip an email and this is what they had to say:

"We do have an ecu upgrade available for your application. The ecu upgrade does require that the factory ecu be sent to us for modification. You must purchase the upgrade package before sending the ecu to us for the modification. Suggested retail is $399.00, and the part number is 65002. The ecu upgrades are all done per the application, in other words, do all the modifications you intend on doing before you get the ecu upgraded. That way the program can be set up for the specific modifications.Hp gains would be dependant on the extent of modifications."

anyone else read that as "do your modifications and get your horsepower gains, then we'll give you a chip and claim it was the chip that got you all that power"?

 

Well, I can tell you that I purchased a piggy-back chip from Jet for my '97 Explorer and was quite happy with the results. But, the jury is still out on the Jet chip for my Max.
