My brother and I met up with a friend last night that just chipped his 2002 jetta 1.8t. He brought his friend along with a modded Bullit Mustang GT
We ran'em on the highway. First race was my car vs. the mustang.
The mustang had "Cold Air Induction, Offroad H-pipes, and Flowmaster exhaust.... which is right at about 300hp."
Of course he didn't tell us this until after the race.
We went from a first gear roll. On third honk we left. By about 110mph, the mustang had a 1 1/2 to 2 car lead.

Then we made a U-turn and went back on the highway. This time my car vs. the chipped 1.8t. From a 40mph on third honk, my car started to pull and by 100mph I had a 3-4 car lead . Those 2002 180hp 1.8t engines are alot stronger than the previous years!

Sorry we didn't tape the races this time.

About the Bullit Mustang GT, I thought it was faster? What's the difference between the Bullit and the regular GT?

Mostly suspension, but the Bullitt also has a different intake that gives it 5 more HP, whoopee. They're not much, if any quicker than a GT, just look cooler.

how do you think my 2k2 auto will do against my friend's chipped 2000 jetta 1.8t (manual)? the stock 00' 1.8t engine is rated at 155 hp.. give or take a few.. with his chip, supposedly 170 hp 200 tq @ the wheels.

The REAL question is, how will his chipped 1.8T do against your 2K2 auto. As his ride is modded and has a manual tranny, the pressure is on him. You should probably run the same 14.9XX that I run consistently, if not faster.
