Bose subwoofer caught on fire!!
Bose subwoofer caught on fire!!
I was prepping my trunk area for Dynamat spray with tinfoil. I was wrapping it around all of the electical wires, taillights, and amp so they wouldn't catch any overspray. Then I covered the Bose subwoofer with it too.
As I was putting it on, I saw a small spark and figured I had just blown a fuse. Two seconds later, there is blue flame seeping through the tin foil, then WOOSH!- red flame all over the speaker.
I blew it out and ripped the tin foil off. The Bose sub still works, but I pulled the fuse now so I could finish the job.
By the way- Dynamat spray SUCKS! The cans last like 2 seconds!

Was your radio on? I thought tin foil can stand high temps (like when you put it in the oven around your baked potato) WTF

Let me know how that Dynamat spray works. I wonder if its just as good as regular Dynamat.

As far as the sound deadening ability, I would go with the regular stuff as my first choice.

It's garbage. I went through 2 full cans and it didn't even cover half my trunk. I remember a few years ago I had a different brand of spray that covered twice that amount.
