Effin' PO'd...

Got my first door ding. I'm PO'ed. Damn inconsiderate, a-holes who don't respect other's property...

Sorry, had to vent. 'Course, it's the longest I've ever gone without some n'er-do-well being unable to get out of it's car without hitting mine... (14.5 months.)

I don't wanna have to start parking like this... (Old pic. You get what you pay for. )

Dude, I feel for you!! I love catching people smacking their doors into other cars. If I don't confront them there on the spot I just leave a note on the other person's car telling them the license plate of the car that hit them and my name & phone number as a witness.

yeah... I made it 24 months...

and worse it was my oblivious grandfather. $75 at Dent Doctor and it was a distant memory. I just hate that I only had one, cause Dent Doctor is like $70 base price then just a few bucks a ding. You can have 1 or 5 fixed for about the same price.

Ok, I'm not really sorry I only had one but still... If I see someone do that again, I'm going to get my $75 right there on the spot. Or get my *** kicked trying

No door dings yet , but get a ton of $hit from friends and family for parking at the far end of the lot in a spot big enough for a Suburban!

i have 3 door dings that have resulted in dents. one of them is huge. the unfortunate thing is, i almost always park faaaaaaaar away from everyone else (if possible) to avoid parking next to other vehicles.

2 other door dings have resulted in chips in the paint. can you imagine that?

Take it to a Dent Doctor shop as long as the paint isn't cracked. They removed a couple of creases out of my roof (Looooong story) and it's almost invisible now. A friend had one taken out of her Dark Blue Civic and same thing, you can't tell it was ever there. She was lucky to see the neighbors kid do it though, She walked right over to point it out and they cut her a check within the week.

I had five dings, all on the passenger side and I used DentPro in Campbell, CA. Half a day and all the dings were gone! One of them was a vertical ding at least five inches long and they weren't sure they could get it out because it was near the door frame! I was very satisfied with the results.

Nothing like keeping the original paint. Now I park away from everyone at work. I was always careful but little dings kept appearing. It cost $260 for all of them.

No dings yet (thank GOD).
I had to rent a car for 1 week until my Max came in and don't you think, 1st time in a supermarket parking lot... Ding! A dent on the upper door panel just below the window. Easily seen and a little scratch to boot. Cost me $75.00 extra for the rental for them to fix it. I am scared to park this baby anywhere.

Tony, if I ever hit your car, I would leave you a blank check on the windshield.... Is the dust from Carlsbad finally gone ...

BTW - I know how you feel. Like the 2nd day I had my car, in the school parking lot my girlfriend leaps onto the hood of my car staring at me through the windshield. I saw the hood like buckle and I think I shed some tears. Later that day I see two shallow dime sized dimples about where buttons or maybe a knee would have been. That would have been OK, I probably would have forgotten about it in time, you know.

But she didn't stop there. One time for giving me hell about parking in the back of the lot she tried to do a fake punch on the right rear quarter panel, only she doesn't have the best body coordination when it comes to punching, slapping, etc. (don't ask me how I know) and so she really does punch the panel, with the hand that has the gold encrusted ruby ring I gave her that puts a nice little scratch in the paint (now it was about a week old). Needless to say, I was little ****ed. But damn, I mean, what can you do?

The scratch came out with wax and now I'm just waiting for her to "accidentally" do Riverdance on my hood before I take it Dentwizard to have it all done at once.

That's one of the things that I'm so pi$$ed about. You can see the primer, and my nice, shiny car has this flaw in the reflection off the door...

It's on the rear door, and kinda high, so it's from one of those evil rear doors with a sharp corner where the wheel arch and the rear of the rear door meet.

I owned a Grand Am (you know, the one that had side molding on half the car) which *eliminated* door dings, except from those evil rear doors.

I can only hope that whoever did it owned a lot of enron and worldcom...

Oh, and these dent removal guys. Do they do a good job reinstalling the interior panels, or do they get in some other way?

just the other day i was walking to my car and i saw this vw bus pull up in the spot next to it. the passenger side of the bus is facing my drivers side door. there is a little kid sitting in the passenger seat of the bus. all the sudden i see him go for the door handle and he swings it fully open without even looking for clearance. dumb kid missed taking off my mirror by millimeters. i swear to god my heart stopped in that second i saw the door swing. little kids are the worst. i was at mcdonalds once and i saw this other little kid do the same thing and smashed the car next to them soooooo damn hard. they just throw the door open as fast and far as they can. and the thing is that even if they hit something, they dont pay any attention to it!!! damn kids. lol

already replacing bumper...

Just got my 2K2 Max a month ago. Nine days later, I'm driving through downtown Charlotte and a car in the far left lane clips the car in front of me. They both start spinning out in front of me and the girl driving the car in front, spins around right in to the front of my bumper. Luckily, no frame damage, but it did push part of the bumper up under the grill as well as push the screws of the dealer-installed license plate holder through the bumper and stripped them out. Fortunately, I had no liability, but now I have to rely on the body shop's ability to paint the new factory bumper the exact same color as the car. Got my fingers crossed! Can't believe I've gotta start out this way with my new baby.

Man I feel you, people just don't have any respect for the property of others these days. They can care less if they damage you ride. Bro, I feel for you I've been there to many times
