Any 2000+ owners ever tried taking out that center support in the rear spoiler?

Any of you 2000+ owners ever tried taking out that center support in the rear spoiler? I'm thinking of getting a 2002 and that car would look much better if that wasn't there. If you have, what kind of body work is involved?

What model 2002? Already with a spoiler or not?

If it already had one, I would check to see where the third brake light wires are routed, I would think through that support, but could be wrong. If they do run through there, that would likely be a pretty substantial hole.

Perfectmax, I would be careful about removing it. It's obviously there for a reason. Removing it may make the spoiler weaker and it could then crack, fall off, etc. Do as you wish...but I wouldn't mess with it. Personally, I think it looks fine the way it is.

You would have to deal with two holes in the trunk lid. There are two screws in the center and one from each side that keep the spoiler and lid together.

The infiniti I35 does not have that middle support on the spoiler. I noticed one today on the road and thought it looks a little better than our spoiler. Could they be swapped out?

Wouldn't the spoiler sag in the middle, Nissan probably put that there for a reason.

Thats exactly what will happen. It is there to stabalize the wing,. If you were to find an aftermarket on that comes without it, then it might work, but dont go chopping up a stock one.

Could the Infiniti wing be installed as a mod in the max?
