I raced a 2K2 M3 a neighbor just got and put 20's on.... he still wooped me, but it was about 3 car lengths..I hit 100 . he has HRE Custom 20's.. That car looks OBSCENE ! So much for dubs slowing you down....Its all blacked out ! Stay away from it ! he has a REMUS EXhaust !

The 2k2 M3 runs a 13.3 second 1/4 mile with manual transmission. His dubs are slowing him down a good bit. But HRE's are forged so they are still lightweight for 20's. Those M3's are God's gift to the automotive world. Late one night I stopped by a BMW dealership and looked through the showroom glass at a silver M3 they had just waxed and put dark tint on...nearly passed out gauking.

Negative my man. A standard GSR, even one with I/H/E will not take a 2k2 max auto. Now drop any kind of forced, or good motor work and they will take the auto, and give the 2k2 a good run. If they are pushing over 10psi in boost then it will take a 2k2 Max.

I have to disagree with you... a GSR with I/H/E will outrun a STOCK 2k2 AUTO Maxima.

I raced a boosted one, at the track. He dialed in a 14.3 to my 14.8... he had a gutted interior too... A stock one, or one with the usual rice mods... seeya !

Shaun,

I had a civic with a fully built GSR motor in it. I would smoke GSRs all day long. On the street my Civic would have a problem with a 2k2 6spd. This was a built motor with Headwork, springs, lightened valvues. I ran a 13.4 at the track, but this was with little slicks, no exhaust, no seats, no spare, nothing in the car. Yeah real quick at the track, and it was fast on the street too, but it would still have it's work cut out with a 6spd. I have no doubts that a 2k2Auto can outrun a plain GSR with just I/H/E. No doubt.

This is all from experience, I used to roll with dozens of Honda motored cars, unless they have a turbo or SC, they are not really that fast.

what is the 0-60 time for a 2k2 auto? I know a GSR with i/h/e should be around 6.5s with a good driver. I can't see an auto Maxima taking that. Now a 6 speed, I am not trying to argue. You have to remember, on the track, you drop the clutch to get the quick 60' time, but on the street people are reluctant to do this because of the attention it gets. So if you are talking about a rolling start, the Maxima would just walk away, but if you are talking about from a stop when the GSR could get a better launch I think he would win. My experience comes because I have a 2k Maxima auto. and an Integra LS with its share of work under the hood and it is about as fast as my 2K max. But that doesn't mean I would race a 2k2, thats 33 more Hp.

I don't think so... Maybe it's just because all the GSR owners over here are ricers and can't drive, but they don't seem that fast

What kind of work is on the LS? I have seen LS motors smoke GSRs... Just because it has God's gift to the car (VTEC) as some believe, doen't mean it is the fastest thing on earth.

I also do not believe am Integra with I/H/E is going to run 6.5 in the 0-60. The Teg doesn't do anything till 3rd gear, that is where that car makes it's ground. 3rd is a killer in the GSR/TypeR. Watch most Hondas at the track, their 60ft sucks, but yet they Trap often around 100 or better. That is because the car gets going and that light weight + top-end speed, make for good times.

A stock GSR has a 0-60 of 7.0s and a stock Type R has a 6.0s, so how are they so slow with times like that? Now a GOOD header/exhaust/intake will get about 22 Hp for a GSR. You can't tell me a 22 Hp difference will not cut off .5 seconds 0-60. Guys, I am not trying to stick up for the ricers, but you have to give them their credit, cause a pint sized 1.8l will run quick given the right combination of parts. And a NA LS with the same mods as a NA GSR will not outrun it. Even boosted, both with 10psi, the GSR will not be beat by an LS.

I've taken out two GS-R's in my stock Gen4 5spd. Both times it was from a roll of about 50-60 mph up to 90. It was close, though. I only pulled about 1-2 cars each time and they both seemed to be stock.

2k2 auto's are a tad faster than me and can run solid high-14's so I don't think a 2k2 auto would have any problem beating a GS-R.

I owned a 98 GSR with I/H/E and I couldn't break into the 14's with it. I had 17" rims, and I think my clutch was slippin, but from comparing my 6spd to it, there's no way it would even be close. An auto isn't that much slower.

guys, we can go about this all day. I have my opinion and you have yours. Nothing wrong with that. But I know a GSR with a good I/H/E without the stereo equip. can run the mid-high 14's depending on the launch, tires, and everything else. I am just going to leave it at that.

the GS-Rs will run mid-high 14s but not just with I/H/E...they'll need cams, cam gears, fuel rail, vtec controller and good clutch..

i have yet to see a GS-R with just intake, headers and exhuast run 14s..they run good..but not that fast..

running Integras' tricky..u just never know what they got under the hood..quite honestly..a LS block with GS-R head motor runs better than just a GS-R..those things are scary..
