automatic memory seat adjusters

I just purchased a 2002 Maxima SE. They come with the automatic seat adjusters with memory. Sometimes the seat will move back when exiting and sometimes it doesn't. Also, they memory buttons do not work half the time either. To get them to work, I have to put the ignition on the on position, move the automatic from park and back to park and then hit the memory switch. Heck, I could adjust the seat quicker myself!

Has anyone else had any sporadic problems with either the automatic seat adjuster or the memory function?

It works great when it funcitons as intended. I am goign to take it in under warranty.

You need to make sure to hold down the button for 2 seconds when you want to select a memory position. Also, make sure the auto-seat switch is on..this will make your seat move back and forth when you have put the key in. If you just push the button without holding it, nothing happens.

My seat doesn't move when I take the key out anymore.. Maybe it's because I use the auto remote start? I know it's disabled, the seat switch says "Auto"... any idea?

It may be related to opening the door. I say this because the windows are supposed to remain operational for (I believe) 10 seconds after the car is switched off. Normally this works fine for me but I've noticed if I open the door the windows will just stop. This seems like a design flaw but I've just learned to work around it.

I am holding it down for at least 5 seconds...and...nuthin'

The rocker switch is also "on" - the dartn thing only works when I put it out of "park" and then put it back in "park" and then hold the button down 1 second and the seats move!

Double check the manual. There are a bunch of lock-out features. If not then see if the dealer can do something.
