My 2k1 5spd ran stock 14.8 at 94.6 mph. 2.36xx 60ft. The 5spd 2k1 are faster on a roll than the 2k2 autos.

Also, I ran a 2002 Altima 3.5SE 5spd in my Max. It lost by 1/2-1 car by 80.

I nominate jhans411 for the 5-speed 2K1.

That said...

From a dead stop I'd put money on the 2k2 auto everytime. But from a roll it gets pretty interesting. The WIDE ratio 4AT tranny has lots of holes, and even though the 2k1 has much less power, the manual tranny lets them put the engine in the powrband regardless of what speed they're at because of the much closer ratios. From 30-50, and 70-90, a 2k1 5spd has MUCH better passing times than a 2k2 auto. The only place they were pretty equal was from 50-70. This is from CarTest2000 simulations, which have been pretty accurate when put to the test in the real world.

Oh yeah, "you 2k2 auto guys", my old slow 4th Gen 5spd also has better 30-50, equal 50-70, and better 70-90 passing times than jOOOOOOO so watchout!

I ran with a 2k2 auto on the highway and from 65-70 on up to 100 or so - it's no contest. The 2K2 could not keep up. He was stock though.
But from a stop, yeah, the 2K2 auto definitely has the upper hand.

I am a 2k1 5 speed with aftermarket navi and a $hitload of mods. I would love to run someone with a 2k2 auto. Anyone in the area or northern jersey want to try?

ColgateU and maxse01, I'm in!! I live in Central NJ and frequent Etown about once a month. Maybe we all can hookup on a Wednesday Night Test & Tune session. (Much less volume at Etown on Wednesday nights; usually a few overly modded Civics and a few muscle cars--which are fast but usually p-i-s-s all over the track even faster )

Set a date guys (preferrably in September when its a bit cooler).
