New 6th Generation Maxima. *read first*
New 6th Generation Maxima. *read first*
at this point ANYTHING is pure speculation. Feel free to speculate and post 'spy' pics, whatever.. just do it here on this thread until we actually have some solid information.
Discussions such as waiting for the 6th gen over the 5th gen are fine in regular threads. Obviously, there will be a specific 6th gen forum when they are actually released.
Now, you all can tear the noobs a new one for not reading the stickies first

First one to post the 2004 Maxima pics!
More speculations

Yes, my dog informed me that the 2004 Maxima will be only avaliable in punky green and the exterior will have two main boosters for super-sonic speed. Also the 2004 Maxima will include a Dreamcast for your gaming pleasure. the seats will be sparco Torinos, but will include arm rest and a large screw driver that will be pushed into the back of your head for extra support in turns.

Wow, thanks for all the new information on the 6th-gen Maxima! Those are some great pictures! Will it really have a 3.5L VQ? My name is Leonard Shelby. Have I told you about Sammy Jankis?

Hmmmm......my guesses........
1) It'll revert back to a solid beam axle for the front as well. Handling will be remarkable.....in a straight line.
2) The sticker price will start at $38,000.00 for a GXE. Nissan, in its infinite wisdom, will offer $10,000.00 rebates and sell the car for around $800.00 under invoice. Resale after one year will be 13% of MSRP.
3) The car will be consrtucted of a space age material called....steel. This steel will not be painted at all since to cut down on the number of 'Nissan paint sucks' complaints.
4) The car will also offer a super advanced air ride suspension that at its lowest setting can reduce stock wheel gap to a mere 8".
5) Less than 72 hours after the first one is bought by an .org member, it is proclaimed the greatest car in existance and immediate bad mouthing of the 2000-2003 Maximas reaches an all time high by those lofty '6th gen guys'.
These predictions are all 100% accurate and scientifically proven. Anyone who begs to differ should just go buy an Acura CL-S or some other car that sucks!!!!!!!

From what I hear from a few folks.. Nissan will be discontinuing
the max in a couple years. The altima will take the place of the maxima and they'll be coming out with a new, larger (than the maxima) car.Pure speculation I guess, but I've heard it from a few people that seem to know what they're talking about..

2004 Max, what do you think?
2004 Max, what do you think?
Something I got out of Edmunds Max forum. What do you think? (the pic he talks about is a link I listed of the Max, the same as in the 1st message on this thread).

That picture is almost certainly a new Maxima. With the Maxima moving to the Altima platform, we should expect exterior styling that tends more toward the Altima than the 5th gen Maxima it replaces. That picture is right on with this theory.
Maxima will stay FWD (not RWD as rumored).
Maxima will keep 3.5 VQ engine (not V8 as rumored).
Maxima will offer CVT transmission.
Maxima will move up in price/luxury. Also up in weight so down in sportiness.
Got this from a guy who works as a contractor at the Smyrna TN plant.
Infiniti is committed to an all-RWD lineup so a Maxima-derived I35 is out.

prayerfor, you are correct with everything you listed.
p.s. The picture IS the '04 max

Man you guys are so misled. No discontinuing the maxima. No AWD. The contractor from Smyrna probably had the best info. CVT: probably. Styling like the Altima: most definitely. Weight gain: oh yeah. I-35: go ba-bye (haven't you heard of the M45?) And nitrous and a supercharger are optional! (Optional as in put them on yourself when you OPT to) Not to mention the 36" super-swampers so you can go mud-riding. Puh-LEASE!

I was talking to an Infiniti dealer, about a week ago, about getting a 2004 I30, he kinda chuckled and said "I'll let you in on a little secret, Infiniti won't be producing the I30 anymore. So get'um while they're hot, hey would you like to sell the lot?"- Carl.(salesmen)
"uh, no thanks."- Me (utterly confused)

) I looked at Infiniti and they only had I35, G35, G20, Q45 & QX4. Both the U.S. and Canadian websites do not show a I30. Now, for how long they will keep the I35, that is the question. Maybe like the Max there will only be a 2002 and 2003 then replaced by the M45 or maybe not.BTW... for those that may not know, they have a link on their site showing future cars including the G35 COupe and M45

The 6th gen will be a revolution, alot of stuff will change. I don't know if it will be a good one, though. The Maxima is hard to beat, ever since the 4th Gen.
The 4th gen was a fantastic start,
Then 5th gen was a nice evolution,
The 5.5 Gen is/was the cherry on top of the last iteration.

Buzz
it would be sweet to see like a 4.4 litre v8 from nissan just like BMW. Lets see 3.0 = 222, 3.5 = 260, 4.4 = 340? Smokin!
I also heard that nissan is going to offer a 4x4 option, since they sit as high as a chevy trailblazer when new.
AMC EAGLE?
lol

2004 Maxima / Skyline
Hello,
I was on one of the Nissan Research group's websites, and I came across the new pictures of the G35 and Nissan Skyline for the European market. There is quite a buzz in that they are talking about this being the new Maxima. All of the photos match up well with what we have seen so far, but there are many very detailed and high quality pics of the car. Check out some of these photos:
