The funny thing is that Nissan was keeping such a tight lid on the 04 to keep it from hurting 03 sales. All they had to do was release this front view and they would have sold every 03 they could make.

You are right...as soon as I saw pics of the 04, I decided with my wife we'd get an 03! The sooner they get these pics out in the press...the sooner the dealer inventories of 03's will clear!!! What a great marketing strategy..."BUY NOW...or ELSE!!!"

This one will REALLY have to grow on me, i.e, as my eyesight fails, I'm sure it will look better.

We're having a good laugh reading these posts and looking at the pics...who needs TV?

OMG..I was so much anticipating a slick looking, true-to-its-roots, Maxima. I really don't know that I'll ever own another. Fortunately, I have an 02 SE 6 spd and an 03 GLE in my garage and they are bound to be around a while...maybe they will run until the 7th gen comes along. I can't see myself ever getting one of these things...I see some hasty 2nd year styling changes coming...these things are going to flop!!!

It's all about getting used to it and opening your horizons. I like the 6th gen, especially when modded up a bit

I really like everything I've seen EXCEPT that front end and that might be acceptable without the buckle. For nissan's sake I hope the interior is killer.

I hope you are right, but I never got used to the tail lights on the current car. I agree with the guy who says it better have a killer interior (and over 260 HP would help too).

That big chrome piece in the middle of the front grill will attract some Buick and Avalon drivers

The front end looks decent.....without the ugly chrome thing in the middle. I'm actually starting to get used to the look of the 6th gen. I just keep telling myself to be optimistic about it.

It looks like it's smiling.. what does it have to smile about? It's gonna be more expensive and probably a flop. It's supposed to frown at you like most Nissan cars do. You have to be afraid as it approaches from the rear..

If i want a car with a front end that's smiling at me then i'd rather get an Eclipse or Probe..

front has no personality, no classic design lines, looks like jelly bean. If you cover nissan logo, it could be any car. Whats the deal with those fog lites? looks like corner lights.

First mod: Take that middle thing off the front grill and slap on a Nissan wing emblem from SyCefiro.

Someone start making plans for a replacement grill. You'll make a ton of $$

Yeah, headlites look just like on the 350Z.

No fogs anymore too, or maybe they integrated in the lights.

I hope Nissan doesn't embarrasse us by putting 4DSC stickers on their 04 boat.
