Attention! Must See!

CHECK IT...I WAS DOING MORE RESEARCH ABOUT THE NEW MAX.
I CHECKED THE NEW MAXIMA PIC THAT WAS GIVEN OUT.
I ALSO LOOKED AT THE NEW SKYLINE SEDAN PIC ON THE JAPAN WEBSITE.

THEY LOOK LIKE TWINS!!!!! NOT ONLY THAT....THEY SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME PERFORMANCE....AWD,3.5,ETC.

COULD IT BE POSSIBLE THAT THE SKYLINE IS ACTUALLY NOW GONNA BE HERE BUT JUST WITH A MAXIMA DISGUISE???!!!!!

WELL CHECK OUT BOTH USA AND JAPAN WEBSITES (in english version).

HERE IS MY PIC OF BOTH CARS TOGETHER....

I don't really mean actual twins.

I know it looks like the G35...so does the Max.

The new Max, new Skyline, and the new G35...do look a hell-a-lot alike! It's all Japanese design anyway.

look at the roofline and the fenders, they are different.

But did you notice how the skyline seems to have a longer wheelbase? It could just be the picture, but that looks longer than the G35.

They are two completely different platforms. Maxima, Altima, and Murano share a platform. Skyline, G35, and Z share a different platform. The Maxima platform is designed for a primary front-drive system with the possibility of all wheel drive. The Skyline platform is set up for rear wheel drive.

Tell Nissan to scrap it & start over

Go here http://www.nissanusa.com/global/cont...,9375,,00.html and tell Nissan how ugly the car is and what we really want it to be. Tell them it needs to stay the same size, it needs to be rear drive, it needs to keep the 6-speed option, and it needs to keep the horizontal headlights. What we want is a Nissan version of the G-35 for about $5K less money.

Maybe if enough people send hate mail, they will change their minds. Kind of like Ford did when they planned to replace the Mustang with the Probe.

Ya know it wouldn't hurt but I seriously doubt they will scrap about 1/2 billion dollars of tooling/design/plant space/jigs for a few thousand emails.

Nissan as a whole must have spent 1% of that amount for getting high on Japanese sh*t mushrooms. The new Maxima looks like it was beaten with an Altima ugly stick. Gross.

That R35 Skyline is the GTS version, and it does NOT come turbo'd in Japan. It does come with an AWD version for more $.

I want to see a GTR a$$ kicker with the new 600hp stock VK45DETT. Hey, I can dream.

I think some people look at the car from a "stock" point of view, and others picture the new max at the track with abody kit, aftermarket wheels and spoiler competing with other cars like supras, ludes, stangs, SIs, Rs, whatevers. IMO it dosent look that good becase i'm looking at the max mod-wise.

I don't particually like it either but then again that wasn't the point of my post. Then again, our opinions don't really mean squat because neither of us is the market for on. So it's looks like Nissan doesn't really give a flying squirrel what we think.

Hey man! Check out the R34 and the SpecV...they're twins!! well, not actual twins because they don't have the same mother...oh wait, they're not even living things. Anyway, just look at the pictures..looks like Japan's R34 Skyline is our SE-R SpecV...get it GT-R & SE-R..they're trying to trick us guys...

If the 6th gen looks like anything...

It looks like the Nissan Teana a bit...

The edge of the headlights look a little similar. I have to admit that the Teana's tailights look different, and there's no 'shoulder line' or fender flares.
There's more similarities there than with the G35, though.

Nissan spends $100,000s of dollars on marketing and design. I doubt they would use this site for ideas. Maybe to void warranty claims or something.

They defintely know we exist.

Will they take our opinions into consideration? Yes.

How much will our opinions/comments affect their product?

the car companies definentaly do read message boards like this, because a while back, on a honda board im part of, we had our transmission problems, and it wasnt until we had hundreds complaining that they finally did something, and would have been just the perfect coincidence that after we had that many people post, they finally started rolling the ball on replacing them for free.

so im absolutely positive they read these things, and the dealers do too(i know that for a fact)

Nissan knows of Maxima.org (plus all the other Nissan enthusiast sites: Altimas.net, FreshAlloy.com, etc.). I believe they do have people checking in once in awhile.

Did you know that a national newspaper in North America considers (and mostly do) a retraction after 12 letters from it's readers?

12!!!

I think it'll make a difference, but then again.. is it financially/strategicly possible?

oh and tell them they should bring the skyline here

In a way I have to agree with you because I have this theory: Nissan just wants to replicate the Z lines on ALL its models.

Murano
G35
Maxima
R35

some vaguer then others

I dont care what they say that is not a skyline.
It doesn't look it
It doesn't use the RB26DETT
It's not 4WD
It seems like there is no way to get over 600HP easily

Yeah, I know. I was just saying that they should seriously look over the demographics and realize that the street enthusiasts here are getting really frustrated. What do we have to work with, an SE-R? Cmon, we know that WRXs can play worse. Or even the EVO VIII coming here next year...

...I wanna see a nice tuned Nissan, with AWD. Being in NA sucks cause all the good sh*t is in Japan. And importing and federalizing's a bit*h.

If they brought the R34 over here, I would buy two in a heartbeat, one nice black for modding and the other blue for stock/daily driver.

"I believe that the 2k4 maxima is plain ugly and Nissan made a huge mistake by making it. Nissan will loose half of its customers. Nissan Maxima was always different, fast, light but roomy. Now it will look like an ugly Toyotas Avalon. We as Maxima owners needed a cheaper version of a G35 and not a grand pa mobile. I speak from all the maxima drivers and say: SCRAP THE NEW MAXIMA!!!!!!" -190hpkilla

I told them how i feel. You should post the link on every nissan related site. Believe it or not Nissan does listen.

Yeah, you couldn't get 600 hp if you dropped in two engines with Nissan's rep for under-rating hp.

I think it would be a great thing to have a registered member who represents Nissan. That would definitely improve the quality of ownership, and if that person(s) would actually be on our side and be fair, then I would think Nissan could get a lot of customers that way. If you think about it, there are a lot of regular members on this board, the altima board, freshalloy, etc, and if we were all ecstatic with Nissan, then how many recommendations do you think Nissan would get just out of members raving to their friends/family/coworkers? That would definitely broaden their customer base.

Wishful thinking on my part though...
