I;m not such a bug fan of it, it's standard on all models to.

no more GXE or GLE either....I'm really going to have to see it in person before I can truly no if I like it or not. Some of the pics right now make the a$$ look too chopped off.

It's different, that's for sure. I think I'd like it. That way both the front and rear passengers can have a view of the sky. Pretty neat

Dunno yet. Probably doesn't open, so I'd rather have a regular moon roof. They should have made a larger moon roof like double sized instead of that narrow thing. We'll see in Detroit next week. Right now, I just don't know.

Well if it DOES open, I hope that it tilts up more than 1/4 inch like the roofs on the 5th gens

Yeah 5th gens barely tilt, but tht new Solar roof thing is sort of tacky/looking to me.

I 2nd that! At first I thought it would look much bigger than a std. sunroof but after seeing the pics of the new "skyview" roof, it looks like one big rectangle in the roof. Thanks but no thanks, i'll stick to a regular sunroof.

Too narrow for anything reasonable to see out...and it does not appear retractable or vented at all...no inside roof shots online yet so can't tell for certain

Yeah i dunno if I like the Skyview roof yet. Although it offers all persons a view above, it's kinda narrow. I do like the ones in the new Quest though.

Why does this pic show a normal sunroof? I would hope that they do have that.

Probably the motivation for the skyroof is so that passengers don't have to look at the ugly interior. And a "normal" sunroof is an option.

It looks ok but by looking at the pics, it looks quite narrow.
Will have to see it up close to see how 'good' it is.

I think of it this way; since the skyview roof is standard on all models, it's really a feature that should be compared to a standard car, like previous Maximas, that had nothing, just a simple steel roof. In that regard, the Skyview is Awesome! Besides, the moonroof is still an option.

I think the skyview roof is a marketing ploy. Especailly for those that are getting a base model Maxima I would defanitly feel more comfortable knowing I got VDC, or HLSD, 5spd auto/ 6spd Man. and this is in the base model. Compared to the Avalon base model that comes with 15" steel wheels you can't beat it with a stick. If I had to buy a 6th gen I think I would be content with a base model if I had to get one.
