First sightings of 6th gen front in Collision

I work out of a Toyota Dealer in Chamblee georgia but already, in their Collision center that does all kinds of cars is a 6 gen that came in late in the afternoon yesterday. I went up this morning to take a look at it. Although the complete front end is history, I looked closely at the crumble zones on the hood an the car defintely folded up quite well with the engine dropping down and folding back slightly because of the energy impact. all airbags seemed to activate. Both headlights were gone, the windshield had a few cracks from the bottom part but I was surprised to see that only the top part of the radiator was left. The core was crushed into small pieces. I wonder if that's a cheap radiator or just made of very light materials.

Anyway, I will keep you all updated with the progress of this vehicle. One of the supervisors said that the car will be there for a while because of the availability of the parts, since it's new.

The body shop is just about finished with a blue 350Z that they pulled outside today. They started on that car before Valentine's day. All of the parts are mostly back order status, right now.

from your post it sounds like they're fixing these wrecks up...what are they doing with them after they fix em? I hope not selling them again to an unsuspecting customer for a great deal

They sell them back as used cars to folks like you and I. I tell you, I've worked in parts distribution for the last 6 months an I've seen some cars that should have been totaled, in up back together in good condition, although you'd have to be good to notice any changes in the seems of the grooves to alert you of some damage possibilities. People do buy them!

Speaking of the 350Z car someone at nissan crushed the front end on it. Anyway they came to pick it up this afternoon. I looked at the records an it took them 46 days to finally get that car back on the road. Yep! parts are all Back Order Status.
