My first Max

My first Max
Wanted to start by saying that I never owned a Maxima prior to the '04 I just purchased..... Went to my local dealer about two weeks ago looking at Murano's. I did not know anything about the new Maxima at that point. It was after hours and some guy was there with his kid and he mentioned they had some new Maxima's in the back. Went to take a look, liked it,then went back to the dealer in the morning and leased it.
This is a great looking car that looks strange from some angles and beautiful from others and it's a BIG car. The engine is sweet and powerful and the Bose system cranks.
I have read all the threads here and notice Maxima's all the time on the road now. IMO Nissan has done a great job on this car both in looks and handling and it definitely deserves a test drive before anyone dismisses it as a Buick. And I just came out of a 350Z.
Thanks for all the insights here as I hunted this sight down the minute I got back from the dealer before leasing the next day.

The 350Z was not practical and I laid out over $30K to have it. Add on top of that the inability to drive it because of the %^&*ing winter we had in NY. Decided on getting a pool and leasing the car. I am not dissapointed at all. The 350Z was a great car but I actually like the Maxima better.

We're enjoying our 04 SL. I have an 02 SE, also; traded an 03 GLE on this 04. It is a different car, but it is every bit Maxima. The car does look bigger than my 02, but compare the specs...it is only about 2" longer, an inch or so taller and marginally wider. The curved roofline and tall rear gives it the impression of a bigger car. On the interior, you are only talking about 1 more cubic foot, and actually, the new car shows less hiproom in front. I compared the specs side by side for all dimensions and was surprised at how little difference there was, but they way they designed it, the interior appears much larger than it really is.
I love everything about this car more and more with each day I drive it. And I even like the front grill. This car, with all the features we got, is not like anything else in its class. Nissan has hit the mark with this car; all I can give them is praise for what they've done.
