How is torque steer on the '04 models?
How is torque steer on the '04 models?
My father has a black/black SE with Journey package coming in two weeks (Automatic, no LSD
)
How is the torque steer on this car, compared with the '02 and '03 models?
Also, under full acceleration from a stop, do you have to hold onto the wheel as tightly as you did with the '02 and '03 models? On my mother's '02 GLE, the car is very unstable under hard accleration.
Thanks for your comments.

There is quite a bit of torque steer. Put it this way, as long as you are paying attention you should have no problem. I wouldn't suggest you floor it while trying to reach for something under your seat.

As for prior Max's, I haven't expereinced torque steer one bit during the time I had my '98 SE, which was all stock. Even w/ flooring it once in a great while I didn't feel any torque steer.
I'd doubt that the 4th gen's 3.0L VQ, at stock ratings of 190hp and 205 lb-ft of torque is hardly enough (if non-existant) to cause concern for torque steer, unless modded of course. Even in 3rd gens. torque steer would be non-existant also at stock levels, unless modded as well.

I defiantley feel torque Steer when hitting it hard. However, as long as I as paying attention and holding onto the wheel, its not a problem at all.

I have an 04 SE 6-Speed Drivers Preferred , HLSD, and don't really notice a whole lot of torque steer. I've floored it a few times (Just finished breaking in the engine
) and am not feeling a lot of pull. At least on straight relatively flat roads. Nothing like Car and Driver was describing that's for sure.

This whole torque steer thing is way over-exaggerated. Even though this is a sporty and powerful car, how often are you flooring it from a dead stop? 99% of the time you won't even know it's there.
