For those that want chrome wheels and New Grill

This was over on Freshalloy for the past couple of days just wanted to share these pics (not taken by me) with the 6th gen forum since people have been asking about chrome wheels and a grill replacement.

Can someone post the pic of the grill ? I don't feel like signing up. I get enough spam mail as it is. Much appreciated.

I dunno, now I just think the front is weird, not just the grill.

But SOMEONE is going to sell thousands of these grills.

I am too lazy to sign up for that, so I didn't see it But $1200+ for a grill is out of control.

If I am going to spend that much, it better be stainless steal, and have a propane tank to cook my steaks!

That looks like a car that belongs on the movie Judge Dread. Better than stock though. . .

Looks nice!

You could pry the hamburger out of the OEM grille, or may be even go crazy take someones shaved 4th gen lettering and spell "M A X I M A" on the front, or take a 5th gen's rear logo

IMO, a black version of this grill in a large mesh or a 5th gen type design would be the best way to go. I would also keep the car color grill border that appears in this pic or something like it, maybe a little thinner. After that, a brand new emblem smack in the center!

Re: Re: Looks nice!

I do think that the 6th gen is a great candidate for the Home Depot Motorsports Mesh Grille (TM).
You could even use the thin OEM chrome border, then do the mesh in black, silver or body color, and stick a hamburger on it.

I think that grill is terrible, and the orginal 04 Max grill is much much better, and orginal because there is nothing else on the market like it so its already custom.

If I had a 6th gen I would pay the $1200+ to get it. It's a nice grill, really does something to the front. But this car in a whole is still not growing on me . The back is so sexy but the front has to go. But in all fairest I still stop and stare when I see one on the street. I'm sure as soon as someone mod the hell out of one I will like it.

The CTS lacks HPs too, I think it has 220 and I don't know if it only comes in manual or not, but that is what I drove cause it was all that the dealer had. It is nice, but could use the extra horses that it is getting for next year

Did you miss the part where I said it was getting more horses next year?

BTW, I wouldn't expect the CTS-V to be real affordable... then again, some of you think the 330Ci and Maxima are in the same price class.

the grill is great.. and i could probably live with the stock "tooth" grill if it wasn't as protruded...

But the fact of the matter is that if you can take a wide angle lens picture of the front of the 6th gen, then you can turn that picture into a smiley.

A Maxima should not look like this: as probes, eclipses, talons, etc have in the past.

A Maxima SHOULD look like this: or like this (hey that looks like a 3rd gen)

Does anyone get what i'm saying.. i know i'm a bit delerious due to lack of good sleep (finals weeks), but I'm sure i'm making some type of sense.

That front bumper could've been a bit more agressive, the headlights as well.

I don't want a jovial Max, i want an angry Max.. GRRRR! LOL

Time for a nap.. hehe

1200 is way to much, and that grille is too big to NOT have any logos on it......i really does need an emblem

I'm not really liking this too much. I think any grille you put on there will make the car look like a Smiley Face... definately not what you want someone to see in theri rear view mirror and go "Awwww"

I hate to say that I'd stick with the stock. Especially for the 1200 tag.

Not to worry... I'm gonna be getting a grille made for the 04 Max soon. Should be another week or two, but I'll post up a new thread when I have pictures.

Hey folks. First post, so go easy on me.

As with a large majority of you, I feel the 04 got shrifted when it came to front grille design. It doesn't look very impressive in the rearview. I agree with max002 in that respect.

Has anyone thought of a bra for the front?
I like the Murano grille much better. Think there's anything in trying to modify it to fit in the Max?
