Nav DVD

Does ne1 know if the Nav system is Nissan Propriatary or some other generic Nav program? In my locale there are significant changes to roads and interstates that often have me appearing to be driving in the middle of lakes or fields. I am also wondering if it is updateable? Ne1 with information they will share will be greatly appreciated...

The NAVs installed in Nissans are made by Xanavi which was originally a joint venture between Hitachi and Nissan. Hitachi recently bought out Nissan and now Hitachi owns 100% of Xanavi.

You will find more information at this link

Xanavi

Good luck with your NAV issues!

The Nav system is upgradeable, but you have to pay for the new DVD. I see no price in the manual.

The nav knows where you are by satellite, right? You just have to enter where you want to go, not where your starting point is, correct?
