Paint Imperfection !

I was waxing my '04 Majestic Blue today and noticed an imperfection in the finish. It is about a 3 inch long x 1/2 inch high spot where the finish feels rough (even after waxing the spot, didn't help). The spot is on the passenger side rear panel (just behind the wheel). It is almost like it's oxidized, it's driving me nuts, when you drop 30K for a car you expect it to be perfect. It is only 2 1/2 weeks old, so I'll be at the dealer this week for resolution !

Anyone else seen anything like this on an '04 ?

Thanks

I had that problem on my 03 that I bought 4 months ago, it was a rough area on the passenger side fron t bumper. I took it in and they buffed it out and it was gone, the gy that did the buffing tried to expalin to me what happened at the factory but I wasnt really listening to him. They will probably buff yours out as well.

Thanks ! I just found out that it is "overspray" from the factory paint job. I appreciate your response, they are correcting it for me this week. Take care.

Just make sure they don't "overbuff" or that will lead to swirls in the paint.

I highly doubt that it was paint overspray from factory.
When I used to have 2000 SE and on that car in two or three places I notice those rougth spots in the paint. I later found out that dealer did work on this car. Cars that dealer recieve get damaged sometimes a little bit, on the transfer truck, etc.

I had these 'rough' spots on my 2k3 when it was purchased new. Not sure if was railway dust or what but it wouldn't come off with polishing or buffing. I tried the mothers clay bar and this took it all off and left a very smooth finish. Would suggest trying the same.

Is thread is an example of why it is so important to check your vehicle BEFORE you take it off the lot.

Yeah I learned the hard way, when I picked my 2002 Max I spent some time checking paint here and there and everything was fine.
I just couldn't belive that the sold me 2000 Max with all those paint oversprays. And even if they tell you it was factory overspray. I would say it is all BS. Do you guys really belive what dealer tell you?

You don't buy a Nissan for the paint quality.
