Hi All, First post
Why no econo(cheap) line of Maxima this year? Maybe the rent a car companys will only use Altimas, any thoughts?

Welcome! To answer your question...Maybe because they're trying to target a more luxury oriented audience. I noticed that on Oahu (i dunno about Maui) they were starting to only bring in the upper models for the 2k2 and 2k3. By this I mean, a lot of cars with leather. Not many GXEs on the road...and if they were, they were mainly rentals, but even the rental companies used base SEs and not GXEs. By the way, I sent you a PM (personal message).

The 2004 Maxima are being sold to rental car fleets the Base models SE for 26K MSRP are all slated for Fleet sales here in VA. The cars with features are being sold to customers so... no 26K Maximas for sale around here.

The altima has moved into the maxima market, if you're looking at a 3.5 anyway and the 4 cyl. is the 'cheaper' maxima. it's almost like they split the market between the 2, leaving alot of choices.
