Delivery Time?

How many people have actually ordered their Maximas and recieved them already? The reason I ask, is because I went to the dealership June 8th, and placed my request. They said on the 9th (monday) that they found one sitting on Nissans lot at the plant. So it would take about a month. Then like 15 minutes later, they said it was already in route to Flordia, and that they would place a order. They said I would recieve a VIN, build date, and expected delievery date in about a week, and to expect to get the car sometime in August. Well, I (and they) haven't heard anything about the car since. Almost a month later. Is this normal? It kinda ****es me off. I was planning on taking the car on a long road trip in the beginning of September, but at this rate I'd be suprised if I saw the car before Christmas. I'm half tempted to cancel the order and go look for something else. (Maybe a C-Class Mercedes)

I still can't believe that the car I want is so hard to come by, a Mejestic Blue with gray interior SE AUTO with the Journey Package. I told them I was flexible between the interior, tranny, and Journey and Elite Packages. (I just want the navigation) And there was NONE in the western 7 states!

Ordered mine on May 5th - delivered June 26th.

When I was looking, they did a dealer locate to no avail. After two weeks of searching, my dealer asked me if I wanted to special order. Since I didn't want to settle for something close, I decided to go ahead and order *exactly* what I wanted. I was told to expect a 6-8 week wait, and that's pretty much what I got. They probably aren't kidding when they say that there isn't one around for them to locate. My guess is that you'll have it sometime in mid-to-late August if you ordered in early June. I know the wait sucks, but just ask the folks here - it's well worth it.

yeah, I was lucky enough to find the exact car I wanted at the dealer that was giving me the best deal. Funny thing was that another dealer said he would beat the price, and then tried to trade cars with him to get it... lol but the dealer I bought it from wouldn't give it up.

You will like the blue/frost combo, I love mine.

I ordered mine on March 16th and got it June 14th. Long wait, 3 months, but I ordered it like a week or 2 afer they first started hitting the dealerships, and I wanted something very very specific. Black ext, black int, VDC, elite package, and moonroof - fully loaded basically.

Was well worth the wait, definitely - I love it. I'm constantly getting complemented on it too, people walk by and have to take second looks. The tooth is what attracts the eye in my opinion

Well, I think Arizona is one of the states that they looked in. I'm assumming that car that GMC found hasn't been there for too long. So tomorrow, I'm going to call up my dealership and see what they have to say about it. Hopefully they can get it for me, so I don't have to wait forever.

The 'build your car' option (on the Nissan site) is worthless. Several times I designed exactly what I wanted, and the site proceeds to list every dealer's inventory that has even ONE of the options I selected. I waded thru hundreds of cars, and not one was what I had 'designed'.

I now go to the 'list dealer's inventory' option every nite, and list all '04 Maximas within 100 miles of where I live. I print only the cars that are exactly what I want. This gives my dealer several places he can try to obtain the car without waiting a month or two on a special order.

I'm lucky in that there are thirteen dealers in the Atlanta metro area, and another thirteen within one hundred miles.

I have to do this every nite, as the '04 Maximas have really taken off here. They don't stay on the lot very long. My nearest dealer tries to keep ten in stock, but can't seem to have more than three left on the lot each nite.

So, I got ahold of my dealership, and what they told me kinda makes me wonder...

I asked about that car in Arizona, and he looked and found it, and said that he could get it but it would cost 600 bucks for shipping. (I figured that much) And it would take ~3 weeks. But then he also said that he found the VIN number on the car that I ordered and it was built and in route... but from JAPAN, and would be here the first part of August! WTF??? I thought these cars these cars were built in TN?
