Scratches on display screen?

What are other peopl doing to protect those screens from getting scratched.

I swear I haven't even touched mine and there are two tiny tiny scratches on it.

I was thinking of those screen protectors for PDA's cut to fit. I think two of them would do it. But they really cut down the readability of it.

Any other thoughts?

It isn't a touch screen, just a regular screen but people are still having issues with them.

I haven't had any yet...

I use a nice microfiber cloth that I clean my eye glasses with. Though I'm going to try the PDA protector later today I think.

What about the dust? The screen is a real dust collector and I can't seem to get the dust off easily and keep it off.

Yeah I know. Same here. I just tried the PDA protectors. Looks like they won't work well. Too many bubbles, and it really makes it hard to read at the angle the screen sits at.

I was thinking of having a piece of plexi cut to fit. Should only cost a couple bucks. Some small black velcro dots at the corners should keep it on.

The plastic that gets scratched isn't a part of the screen, it sits in front of it. So it should be possible to get replacements if it comes to that.

How about 3M invisibra? You probably can get small pieces of it for free from your local tint shop.

On the issue of dust, have you tried spraying it with one of those anti-static sprays?

What is 3M Invisibra? I'd guess the screen is an A-cup.

It would have to be something that was easy to remove, so it can be replaced as needed.

It's also called a Clear Bra in some areas, basically a clear sheet of vinyl(?) that's used to protect your vehicle's paint. Same use as regular vinyl bra's but you just don't see it.

It sticks to your car in the same way tint does to your glass so i'd assume it's easy to take of when needed.

Right...hmmm I've never seen that stuff. I'll ask while I'm at the tint place this week. Thanks for the heads up.

New screen

After I got my new screen, I made the Mechanic leave the protective plastic on it. I had to take it off cause it is just too dark (kind of turquoise)

Only use a soft WET cloth to clean it!

I use a spray cleaner on my computer monitor and it also is anti-static. works great for my Nav display in my 04'. I appear to have 1 pixel bad, I have queried Nissan as to screen replacment policy due to bad pixels, no response yet.
