Still no music ( Burned CD'S)

Thanks for all the suggestions.I have changed burning software from Nero 5.7 to 5.9, as well as Acoustic cd burner. I can't seem to change the speed on Nero even though it has a program for that. The speed always defaults to 4x which is my max speed any way. I have burned 2 types of Memorex, TDK, and Imation. The deck is still skipping through the disk. However for some strange reason some of my older various brand disk are playing now, but none of the new ones are. I also got a burned disk from another computer and it played. My next move is to try to find out how to lower the burn speed on Nero 5.9. When I had Easy Cd creator 3.5 I had the speed option, but not with these current programs. If anyone know of a good burner program please send them through, or how to lower the speed on Nero.

Thanks to all :

sounds more like your burner is garbage, replace the CD-burner and I am guessing you will have solved your issue. If the fastest that thing can burn at is 4x then it is atleast 4 years old, probably 5 or more (I got my my first 6x in 1998 I think). You can get a good cheap burner for under $50, so I would go that route.

We have definately ruled out the car.

you need a new burner. I have no problems with all different kinds of brands.

When I posted about trying new software in the first thread you started I just assumed that the burner was somewhat new. Now that you mention it's a 4x max record, there is no doubt in my mind its the burner itself. If you are looking for a replacement, Lite-On is a very good quality, inexpensive replacement.
