Use for folding side view mirrors?

I'm sure there are some, I just haven't ever been in a situation where I've had to fold my side view mirrors in. I like the button, it's fun to play with and everything, but what would I use it for? I'm sure there are some pretty good reasons out there.

M<y mirrors

Well, my other car is a Honda Pilot. Pilots are really Wide...like 77 inches. So, minimizing the Maxima using the Mirrors helps the Garage Space out a bit.

To give you more room in the garage when you walk around the car, or to close them up tighter to the car in a parking deck so they don't get scratched.

They would be a lot more useful if you could have them close automatically when you shut the car off.

Agreed. I figure most of them will get fubar when the car wash guy tries to fold/unfold them manually.

My custom-built garage doors are ten feet wide, and the garage is almost thirty feet deep, so I can whoosh right in.

BUT, most (non-doublewide) garage doors are eight or nine feet wide. Some old garages built fifty or more years ago have doors as narrow as seven feet.

At my age (old), I would probably fold the mirrors before entering/exiting an eight foot doorway. Just to be on the safe side. Nice to be able to do that from inside the car when it is pouring rain . . .

i use it in parking lots so that idiots have less of a chance walking into the mirrors while carrying groceries or their golf bags...

backing out of a narrow garrage with the mirrors folded in can get ugly
