Security Systems

Has anyone installed an aftermarket alarm? I'm condidering getting one and would like for it to interface well with the car. I've been looking at Clifford and Black Widow. This car is a real "attention getter" so I'm feeling a little concerned about security. Thanks! RC

Good question. I'm more concerned with someone ripping off the Xenon headlights. What aftermarket alarm would help with that problem?

There was a posting on another thread about what it takes to get the 2004 Zenon lights out, lets just say it won't be an issue

FAMOUS LAST WORDS!

Unfortunately, I'm sure the thievin' bastards will figure out a way around the alleged "headlight removal difficulty" in the '04 design.

They may not get the shake but might tear hell out of your car trying.

These and others are the reasons I'm thinking of perimeter alert and paging as features for the alarm. But perimeter alerting would need to be able to be activated and deactivated as necesary, it may impractical at times dpending were you park.

i have the clifford intelliguard 4000...with tilt and separate door locks it cost me around $800...i added a pager for $250...

the only problem i had was every 30 minutes the car would run a diagnostic check and set off the alarm...the installers were able to fix the problem...go with clifford, the chirp is real cool, and i haven't falsed once yet...i park in heavy traffic areas and don't even get the warning siren when dump trucks go by.

be careful though, clifford puts its name on lower grade alarms.

Don't buy a Maxima with HID, then you have no worries or problems! -or- factory option $150 delete.

For the 6th gen, a quick way they will look for SL Maximas (HID standard) and for the SE they will look for leather. For SE to have HID must equipped with Driver Preferred Package and downward...Sensory Package (leather,etc)....Premium Audio Package
