Power Window Issues

I have a 04 Silver 3.5SE and just had the drivers side front power window regulator go out. It makes a loud POP when it goes and then if you are lucky the window will work slowly and with a grinding noise. I have had this problem on my 2001 Xterra on all 4 windows and knew what it was. The dealership has the part on order and I will post what all was involved (Part #, Time, $) when it is fixed. Of course this is under warranty, this time. Anyone else having this problem?

Yup. I have an '04 SE and my driver side window dropped down for the 2nd time. The first time was a minor inconvenience ( I had to leave work and take it to the dealer to look at---can't have no window in South Florida!!!). This time (today) it dropped down into the door panel while I was in a car wash!!! LUCKILY it was during the drying cyle. But, what would have happened if it fell during the hot waxing cyle???? I could have been scalded with hot wax and the interior damaged! Of course, the dealer said that they are not familiar with the problem (except my first time there). However, I personally know someone else that has had this problem. I will be contacting Nissan customer service on Monday!!!

I have owned three Maxima's. I bought nine replacement window regulators for my 89 and 91. Replaced seven windows once and the eighth twice. I did most of them myself and I thought it was a materials problem. Seemed the Texas heat and time weakened the plastic. I'm very surprised that Nissan hasn't fixed this problem. I am also surprised to hear it happening on new cars. Next time you are at the Nissan dealer ask the parts guy how many window regulators they sell. One told me they sold them by the truck load.
