All those with custom grille's....

Ok this is just so i can finally find the grille i've been going nuts trying to find. I remember one of you guys had the grille which was just the horizantal lines. I believe you had a car domain site, as well. I have gone everywhere trying to find your pics and i gave up so i turned to this. Even if you arnt the one that i'm looking for feel free to post, im sure a collection of all the grille's that are available and a sample wont hurt too much. Thanks.

off of ebay...159.95...i am in hawaii, the shipping was around $20 and it got here in less than a week (very fast and cheap by hawaii standards)...it came with 5 sentences for instructions on a xerox sheet...the parts included were minimal and useless...i took it to my install guy and he charged me $120 to install it...he had to fabricate some spacers in order to install...he probably overcharged me, but don't expect to install it yourself, if you haven't done a grill before...

i am really retarded once you open the hood...wait a minute i have a hard time opening the hood, without getting on one knee to see where the lever is...so you may be able to figure it out.

hear is the url...but if this link doesn't work, then just go to ebay and type 2004 maxima under the search...you will find the thumbnail without a problem...
horizontal lines only grill

i am not trying to flame 04blackse, (btw, love that grill also) but why do people put IMO on message boards so much? i know what it stands for, but if you are writing to a message board, then isn't anything you say your opinion?

when people write facts, they don't write TIAF (this is a fact) do they?

maybe i am just sitting way too long in front of this computer screen, but just like they taught you in college, don't write: in this essay i am going to talk about; in conclusion; firstly, secondly, thirdly; and lastly in my honest opinion, i feel that abortion should...

if your name is at the top of the paper/message, then we can all safely assume that it is your opinion right?

btw, i am smiling now

After hearing all the difficulties of the other one, this one will probably be the one i choose. Unless the one that SS is coming out with, the grille on the example of the stillen front lip, really catches my attention.

Those pics of the poor workmanship are telling. Are the new Maximas made in the U.S.?

The poor workmanship is on the aftermarket grill, not the max.

It seems to be necessary because there are people that come in here and state things that they claim are facts, but can't back up. Unfortunately it is a common occurence, sadly it usually is a 5th gen owner or a kid.

Hey 04blackse,

Where exactly did you get that grille you are showing in your pic? I am getting a 2004 max soon, and want that one for mine too.

we've gone round and round about this before...gmc is stating his opinion that the grill sucks...he is also saying that with this type of car, i should expect that type of ugly joint compound that will bend and stretch with the car...i would love to see pix of a mercedes with the lack of attention to detail when it comes to joint compound...i am not saying that i own an $80,000 car, but i think there could be more care when applying that crap.

Every uni-body car I've ever owned had that black pookie schmeared on it somewhere. I think it has to do with spot welding panels together then sealing the seam to keep water out. I suppose they could be neater with the application but the fact that they use it doesn't offend me. The spot welds would fail without it.

roger that on those joints failing w/o the compound...i still want to see a mercedes with that same ugly schmear on it...i have no clue about mercedes so maybe they don't have the same type of body as the 04 max...so this may not be a valid point, like most of my posts

Not to hijack, but WTF? I didn't know you were better just because you have a 6th gen. You sound like a uptight yuppie. Have a nice day.

I searched www a little for MB construction tecniques. Most if not all modern MBs use unit-body construction. I searched www a little for MB construction techniques. Most if not all modern MBs do use unit-body construction. I read one article that warned that a completely smooth seam was an indication of crash damage repair. I never really found anything that said what it should look like though.
But it is that degree of attention to every detail that makes the MB cost twice + what a Maxima does.
It is disappointing that Nissan can't program the robot to lay down a neat beade of caulk.

Yeah, what's up with that? Sounds like someone wants to start another flame war with 5th gens. Didn't your momma tell you that you're gonna be cross-eyed if you keep looking down your nose at people?

yayayah...give me 20 bombay saphires on the rocks and i will let the caveman loose!

i am by no means a yuppie or someone looking down my nose...i was just saying that there really is no need for IMO when it is obviously an opinion...just like when poor drivers look down to find their signal flasher, when they are in a left turn only lane...it's obvious you are going to turn left, you don't need to signal.

btw- i am guy who carries cement bags, cuts down trees, and moves heavy rocks for a living...calling me a yuppie or uptight just doesn't fit my profile...but then again, being a cybergeek posting to the message boards isn't either.

-i think i will change my name to dork wannabee...

I didn't direct that comment at you it was in refrence to GMC74 who said ".... Unfortunately it is a common occurence, sadly it usually is a 5th gen owner or a kid." Were all entitled to our opinion I agree with what you said. I just have a problem with people who talk down to/about others with no leg to stand on!

I just bought a grille today (9-20-03) from Garden Grove Nissan, Garden Grove, CA. Paid $260.00 minus 15% coupon from their site (http://nissangg.com/). The grill is different from Trenzbillet grill. Took me almost an hour to remove the original one and install the new grill. Go check out the site and make a comment on the design.

Thats the same grille from wooddash.com i believe. I think it looks really good, tho i didnt want a nissan emblem on mine. When i emailed them about it they told me it just covers the stock grille, kinda made me not interested.

Youre right, they are the same grill (E&G Classic Grill) but the one I paid for is cheaper and I got it at the same day. As I said before I only paid $265.00 both for grill and one chrome NISMO license frame. The one from wooddash is $315.00 and you have to wait for them to ship it to you. I like my grill with the Nissan Emblem. The other company that make grilles without the emblem is the Trenzbillet and they have quite a selections of grilles for 2004 Camry. Hope you find the right grill for you!!!
