'04 Bose Sytem Speakers

Does anybody know what speaker sizes are used in the Bose system on the '04 max and their location?, I'm guessing that there are 6 1/2's in the front door but I'm what wondering what's in the rear doors and what's mounted on the rear parcel shelf, 6x9's? I'm looking to add some aftermarket speakers and I need to figure out what I'm gonna replace and with what. Also anybody playing MP3's in their new max's, I know that there is a Sony Disc Changer out there that plays 'em but I really would rather not connect to the radio via a FM Modulator, I'm looking for another option.

I have that exact Sony CD changer, and I love it. I had it installed last Friday, you can see pics at www.chrisaustin.us/car.html The FM modulator is really the only way you'll be able to install anything like this in the '04, since the factory head unit doesnt have any sort of input for a changer (already has one in it), but since the changer taps DIRECTLY into the antenna line, and not sending out a signal from the trunk, there's really no loss of sound quality. In between songs I've turned the stereo up to like 40 and you can hear some static, but when you've got the music on, you cant tell a difference. Plus, 10 discs x mp3 on each disc = 1500+ songs in your car at your fingertips. Can't beat that!

Haven't really looked to see what size the speakers are, you might as well just pop open the door panels and have a look yourself. To get to the rear deck speakers, just pull down the carpeted roof of the trunk, its just held in with some of those plastic pins, and you'll be able to get access to them.

go to the "group deals" section of this forum, and find the thread labeled "New Frankencar GD", and look in there, there'll be a link to the Maxima.org group deal for these. Mine, which has the Apexi filter as well, was I think $190 plus shipping. Its supposed to add maybe 5-8 horsepower, which I honestly can't really tell, but I do notice it accelerates quicker, less lag when you hit the gas. the sound is nice too, and it's supposed to add a little gas mileage, which I havne't yet noticed since I've only driven in town, won't be taking it on a long trip until Thanksgiving.
