Wind noise from speaker...

Sorry if this has posted. I couldn't find any info with a search.

I have a based SL.....with 700 miles. I didn't test drive it on the highway...my mistake or I would have driven another one.....when I get to 70 mph there seems to be excessive wind turbulence noise from around the pillar, right were the tweeter is mounted. I noticed this right from day one. Finally figured out if I put my hand over the speaker, the sound is dampened extremely. Yes the Bose system is off.

Popped the door panel off and sure enough there is nothing behind the tweeter grill. The wind noise is coming right threw it.....

Please someone else check this out before I contact Nissan. I tried stuffing some rubber foam padding in there. I did help some.. but still some noise is passing through.

I would find it hard to believe that I’m the only one with this problem……..

It’s a large cavity with just the exterior metal separating the cavity from the outside.......did that make sense?

yeas it does since its attached do the door farme and onluess there is some kind of opening from the outside that wont cause the noise. Check the weatherstripping around the door and if you want go out and buy a sheet of DYNAMAT frm the bestbuy car stereo section. Cut a piece out to fit behind the tweeter and install it. It should dampen any noise you hear. If not take it to the dealer.
