04 SE wheels are heavy!!!

Last night was doing some detailing on the Max took out the spare tire and man it is heavy...Got a scale and weighed it, 57 lbs!! I also weighed a rear Z06 tire/rim and it was 43 lbs...Some really light wheel/tire package would help handling/performance

You may have solved the wheel shimmy problem.... But then again, Nissan's Engineers may have already thought about that.

Just think how fast that car would be if the wheels were lighter....what if the wheels weighed 19 lbs. you would be the fasted thing on the road...and you would be able to run a Porche 911 Turbo with no problem LOL

The 350z guys have the same exact wheels I think. They said around 27 or 28 pounds for just the wheels, and the tires weighed an equal amount.

This is why I'm trying to buy a set of the Volk wheels off of a 350Z. They look ****ing great and light as a feather.

I found some replica wheels that I wanna get. they weigh a tad under 18 lbs for 18x7.5 but people are saying go with a wider wheel. I really dont see what I need a wider wheel when my 245/45s will fit on the 7.5s anyways.

The 18's I picked up are around 27lbs too. Tires weigh 14.5lbs. 43.5lbs vs my stock of 54 is not too bad and I won't have to worry much with pot holes tearing up the rims (pretty stout)

Total of 42lbs of unspring weight reduction...
